Madeline's POV.
Witnessing the make-out scene yesterday, I didn't expect we would have such light-hearted moments. I teased Liam Fernades, and only if he wasn't a playboy would I have found him so adorable.
As I got ready for college, I just realised I had no clue where exactly I stay or how I would reach college.
''Hey! Hey!'' I tried grabbing Liam's attention but he pretended as if he hadn't heard that.
''Liam.'' I finally called out, his head snapped towards mine from the couch he was sitting.
''What is it?''
That grey tee and navy track pants did something to me but I ignored whatever my hormones were feeling. As I rested my hands on my hips I asked, ''Where exactly is this place and how do I go to college?''
I watched as Liam tilted his head blinking his eyes like an owl, he chuckled, ''With what confidence are you staying here?''
I cleared my throat due to embarrassment, he was right, I didn't have many thoughts when I shifted here and now I was facing the consequences.
Crossing my arms I tilted my head. "Just answer the question, husband." I had to make sure that he heard the last word well.
His face fell for a second before his lips displayed a sarcastic smile.
He stated in a matter-of-fact tone, "This place is in the Fernades estate, on the outskirts of the city. Good luck finding a bus stop."
It took me a few minutes to let that sink in. "The outskirts?!"
Liam nodded. "Yeah, don't you find this place so peaceful, Imagine having a quiet space in a city like this."
I did think it was weird, but I was too busy trying to adjust to this ridiculous situation of a flash marriage, at this point it's an illegal marriage.
I groaned feeling a headache creep through. "Now how the hell am I supposed to go to college?"
"Not my problem." Liam shrugged and picked up his phone again.
'Does he not have to attend college today?'
I strained my voice as I called his name again. "Liam."
He didn't even look up. "Figure it out, my dear wife."
I clenched my jaw. He was using my tactics against me.
I grabbed the artificial flower from the flower vase nearby and aimed at him.
Liam caught it with ease, raising an eyebrow. "Thank you for the flowers, Madeline. I didn't know you were such a fan. Welcome to my fan club."
I was not in the mood for jokes.
"I hate being late! If I am not at the right place at the right time, it drives me anxious." I huffed as I continued.
"Mr. Jones showed me around the house, but not around the area. What was I supposed to do?"
Liam let out a sharp breath before grabbing his phone again. "Fine," he muttered, dialling a number. "Sebastian, get the car ready. Yeah. No, not for me. For her. To college"
He shot me an annoyed look after he was done, it was not like Iike I asked him to lend me billions of money.
"Listen carefully, Madeline," his tone turned serious as his eyes met mine with an intensity that might have been too much to bear.
"I don't need paparazzi getting pictures of you stepping out of my car and starting another round of gossip, so cover yourself with a mask and a cap before getting out."
He paused, before saying, ''Sebastian will not escort you till the college gates, he might even stop a kilometre before, is that ok?''
I nodded my head. "That is okay but are you serious about the pap's?"
He simply shrugged. "Of course I am. Unless you want to be splashed all over the news with some ridiculous headline like 'Liam Fernades' secret endeavours with the heir of Harlow Pharmaceuticals"
He smirked as he continued. "That could be entertaining especially with the Harlow's name coming up in the news again."
I rolled my eyes slightly annoyed at what he said "Thanks for your concern but I don't enjoy the limelight as much as you do."
He shifted from sitting to slightly lying on the couch. "Just saying, if you want your privacy protected, do as I say. I don't want to trouble my manager, PR or HR department."
I huffed and sighed as I understood what he meant.
He had a point.
I had seen enough headlines about him to know that the media was obsessed with his every move especially since he also carried the Fernades family name.
Liam got up from the couch, stretching lazily before walking towards the front door. He grabbed a black cap from the door hook as he tossed it to me.
"Here. And don't forget a mask."
I barely caught the cap, my fingers had almost non-existent grip strength. "How many caps do you have? Ever since I came in yesterday I have spotted at least ten caps."
He shrugged. "No idea and you're not the first girl I've had to sneak out unnoticed."
Of course I wasn't, I would be surprised if he was clean and had no infections.
He smirked, clearly knowing that he had irked me. "Better hurry up. Sebastian doesn't like to be kept waiting."
Gritting my teeth, I pulled the cap onto my head and grabbed a mask from my bag before heading to the door.
Liam leaned against the doorway, arms crossed. "Hope you don't run late, Ms Punctual."
Unable to stop I flipped him off before stepping outside.
