After that, Advik walked toward the bed and stopped a few steps away, silently watching Anya, who was sleeping in a strange position.
She was clutching a pillow like a little child, and her long hair covered half of her face.
Looking at her, Advik thought to himself, Keeping her here means inviting Grandma's endless lectures! The best option is to move her to the side so I can sleep too. I'll think about what to do with her in the morning.
With that thought, he sat on the edge of the bed and hesitantly reached out to touch her. But then, he pulled his hand back, reconsidering his actions. He repeated this hesitation four or five times before scolding himself, Why are you acting scared, Advik? She's your wife! You can touch her!
Gathering courage, he extended a finger and lightly touched Anya, but she didn't react at all—still sleeping peacefully. He tried a couple more times, but when she didn't stir, he let out a deep sigh of defeat.
Scanning the bed, he finally decided to lie down on one side. But even as he rested, his gaze drifted back to her. Slowly, he reached out and tucked the strands of hair behind her ear, revealing her face.
The room's dim light fell on her, making her look even more beautiful. Her thick eyelashes cast shadows over her closed eyes, and there was a faint smile on her lips, as if she were dreaming of something pleasant.
Advik found himself lost in her sight and unintentionally murmured, It's so beautiful...
Then, pulling his hand back, he smirked and muttered, I've heard that extremely beautiful girls have little intelligence. You are the perfect example of that! If you had asked for a little bit of brains along with beauty, maybe you wouldn't have been deceived so easily.
Shaking his head, he turned to the other side and tried to sleep.
Just as he was about to drift off, a foot landed on him. Sighing deeply, he moved her leg aside and closed his eyes again. But then, her hand landed on him. He pushed it away gently.
This pattern continued for a while—her tossing and turning, and him adjusting to her movements. Eventually, when he got used to it, he, too, fell into a deep sleep.
Next Morning…
Advik was still asleep when he suddenly felt someone unlocking his room from the outside. Instantly alert, his mind jumped to one name—Arnav!
Is Arnav coming here to meet his girlfriend?
The thought alone angered him, and his gaze shifted to the innocent girl beside him—Anya.
At some point during the night, she had moved closer and was now sleeping peacefully in his arms. Seeing her like this brought an unexpected smile to his face.
And then, an idea struck him.
He pulled her even closer, slipping one strap of her dress off her shoulder. Then, covering both of them up to their shoulders with the blanket, he made sure that from a distance, it would look like they were lying together without any clothes.
Satisfied with his plan, a mischievous smirk played on his lips. He could already imagine the reaction outside!
Just then, Anya stirred in her sleep.
Advik's breath hitched as he thought she was waking up. But instead of opening her eyes, she moved even closer, resting her head on his chest before falling back into deep sleep.
His heart skipped a beat, but as soon as he saw she wasn't waking up, he closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Right then, the door opened, and two people entered the room.
One of them spoke in a concerned tone, "Why are you crying, dear? Didn't I promise you that you would become this family's eldest daughter-in-law? I meant what I said—I will make sure Advik divorces that girl as soon as possible!"
"And as for that girl… don't worry about her! She is not even worthy of standing next to our Advik!"
But as they continued talking, their eyes finally landed on the bed—and the sight before them left them utterly shocked!
"What is this…?!"
"You told me Advik never even looked at that girl and left her! Then why… why is he in bed with her like this?!"
