Aurora gently tucked Seraphina in for the night. She pulled the soft blanket up to Seraphina's chin, smoothing it over her small frame.
The gentle glow of the stickers on her wall made her soft purple themed room more beautiful. Just perfect for a five year old.
Seraphina blinked at her mum. "Mommy?" her voice was hushed, hesitant.
Aurora brushed back a curl from her daughter's forehead, smiling softly. "Hmm?"
Seraphina hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "I'm sorry I said it out loud. I prayed for a dad, but I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to be sad."
Aurora's heart clenched. She swallowed, keeping her expression calm as she tucked the blanket around Seraphina more snugly, and cuddled her. "You did?"
Seraphina nodded solemnly. "Ever since I was four. And soon, I'll be six."
Aurora exhaled softly, stroking her daughter's cheek. "And what did you say in your prayers?"
