Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: A Glimmer of Hope.

Bella told the girls to rest for a bit, knowing they had to walk again soon. They entered the empty barn, and Bella looked around, hoping to find something that could be of help. But there was nothing.

She went outside, scanning the surrounding area, but still found nothing. She returned to the girls, who were sitting on the floor, looking tired and hungry.

"I know you're tired and hungry," Bella said, "but we can't give up. We have to survive. We'll walk again until we find something to eat."

The girls showed signs of exhaustion, but they nodded in agreement. After an hour of resting, Bella knew it was time to move again. The sun was starting to rise, casting a golden glow over the landscape.

As they walked, Bella spotted a forest stretching far into the distance. "We should go into that forest," she said, pointing. "We might find fruits and water. And it's safer than being out in the open."

The girls nodded in agreement, and they headed towards the forest. As they walked deeper into the forest, the trees grew taller, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

By 10 am, they were deep in the forest, and Bella knew they were safe for the moment. She told the girls to sit down and looked at their feet, which were covered in dirt and scratches.

"I'm going to massage them," she said, smiling. The girls laughed, and Bella told them to wait while she went to find some food.

She returned after 10 minutes, carrying a handful of guavas and mangoes. The girls' eyes widened in excitement, and they cheered.

But before they could eat, Bella cautioned them to wash the fruit first. However, the youngest girl was too hungry to wait. She snatched a mango from Bella's hand and took a big bite.

The juice dripped down her chin, and she smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. Bella couldn't help but laugh, feeling a sense of joy she hadn't felt in months.

For a moment, they forgot about their troubles and simply enjoyed the sweet taste of freedom.

But as they sat there, eating and laughing, Bella knew that their journey was far from over. They still had to find a way to safety, and they had to be careful not to get caught.

As they finished their snack, Bella looked at the girls and said, "We need to keep moving. We can't stay here for too long."

The girls nodded, and they stood up, brushing off their clothes. Bella took the youngest girl's hand, and they continued on their journey, deeper into the forest.
