As the day came to an end, the girls couldn't stop talking about the pancakes Bella had made for them. They were still raving about the delicious taste and texture, and Bella couldn't help but smile as she listened to their enthusiasm.
"Those pancakes I made are usually steamed in banana leaves or deep-fried," Bella explained, "but since we didn't have a saucepan or oil, I just decided to adjust to the situation."
The girls looked at each other, their eyes wide with excitement. "Eeeh, oh my God, they must be even more tasty!" one of them exclaimed.
Bella chuckled and said, "That's how we make Ugandan pancakes."
Bonita, the youngest, looked up at Bella with a curious expression. "Shall we taste it one day?" she asked, her voice full of hope.
Bella smiled and said, "Of course, I will make it for you when we get out of here."
The girls all cheered and clapped, excited at the prospect of trying the fried pancakes. Bella laughed and hugged them, feeling happy to be able to share a part of her culture with them.
As the evening drew to a close, the girls decided to have some leftovers with some roasted meat and water. They sat down together, enjoying their simple but satisfying meal.
As they ate, Bella told them sweet stories, regaling them with tales of her childhood in Uganda. The girls listened with wide eyes, enchanted by Bella's stories.
As the night wore on, the girls began to feel sleepy. Bella tucked them in, making sure they were safe and comfortable.
As she settled in for the night herself, Bella couldn't help but think about their situation. "This has also passed," she thought to herself. "I don't know if we will keep staying here or if we will find a way out."
She thought about Madam Rose and her people, wondering if they were still looking for them. Bella felt a shiver run down her spine at the thought, but she pushed it aside.
She knew that she had to stay strong for the girls, to keep them safe and protected. Bella took a deep breath, feeling a sense of determination wash over her.
As she drifted off to sleep, Bella felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she would do everything in her power to keep the girls safe, to give them a chance at a happy and fulfilling life.
And with that thought, Bella fell into a deep and restful sleep, surrounded by the girls she had come to care for so deeply.
