Katherine's POV
"Oh! That sounds great."
I wasn't surprised as the words flowed out of Bree's mouth.
She smiled at Melissa as if she had her life in her hand. Maybe she did. I noted that she kept patting her dress down every five minutes.
I didn't have to be a genius to know that Melissa had come through on her promise to give her the dresses from the collection they talked about the other day. As I stared at Bree, I had to admit that the dress looked good on her.
It was no wonder she had readily sold her loyalty. How stupid of me to think they were going to stick with me.
I noticed a new watch on David's wrist as he handed the presentation files to me and wondered if Melissa had been the one to get it for him. If I had known sooner how cheap they were, I would have bought something for them.
