"So this is the famous status screen… Sadly, it's not only for me; every Awakened gets it from the Origin World," Roman thought. But being an avid novel reader, he was still thrilled.
Still, the concept of the Origin world was weird to him. How could a dimension or something, upon contracting, awaken a Status Screen? And who are the sentient beings that control it? Nobody knows in Ares. But they still use it to strengthen their rebellion.
Roman had never heard of anyone in Ares awakening a Triple-S or even a Single-S rank talent. If such people existed in the vast universe, he had no way of knowing. What he did know was that the strongest Awakened in Ares were only B-rank.
Now that he had an SSS-rank talent, he needed to lay low. After all, most backstabbings come from those you trust.
"I might have endless potential, but revealing it could ignite jealousy, and I am not powerful enough to handle the backlash," Roman thought.
"He actually awakened?" Even the injured Instructor Alcie was astonished.
"If I'm not wrong, nobody in his family was an Origin Warrior."
"Oh, I remember! My dad told me to befriend him. His father and mother are both regiment heads," a student said.
"Then you must have a good friendship with him. Could you introduce us?"
"He was very much a loner. You see, other than the sick fatty and Lily, he didn't hang out with anyone. Even I tried to talk to him, but those were just pleasantries, and we didn't talk much."
"Unfortunate me, here I thought i could be friend with a Awakened."
"We thought he didn't even have a chance to become Awakened, but he became one!" one of Greg's hooligans spoke to the others.
Among the shocked faces, Greg's interest was piqued.
"Heh! Even if you don't want to be my subordinate, you'll have to be." he thought.
After all, Roman's father and mother were both under the command of the Ashron Family's Awakened, wasn't it common sense for him to follow—JUST LIKE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER?
...
Leo silently approached Roman.
"Congratulations on your successful Awakening, Student Roman."
"Thank you, District Leader," Roman replied.
Leo, unfazed by the short response, smiled and asked, "Can you show us what talent you awakened?
Roman's expression remained neutral. Since all the other students had shown their talents after awakening, it had almost become mandatory to showcase them now. Knowing this well, he commanded his System to display the C Rank talent.
And an interface appeared above him.
"C-Rank Talent: Origin Mana Enhancement," Leo exclaimed.
There were only five people with such a talent in Ares, and only Roman was a C-rank Awakened.
But Leo didn't allow his excitement to show on his face. He needed to recruit Roman onto his team no matter what. To do this, he could only silently execute his plan without creating any commotion here.
"Not bad! Student Roman, I think that after getting injured, your luck shone brighter than others." After that, he didn't say anything more.
"Well, we don't have all day! Next five students, come in a row!"
.....
"What? A C-rank talent?"
"He awakened a higher rank than Greg, who's from an Origin Warrior Family?"
"Is this the start of a new legend in our district?"
The students buzzed with excitement—except for one.
Greg was fuming. "How dare you take my spotlight?"
Greg glared at Roman, his anger seething.
"Roman Maximus! You will pay for humiliating me today."
Looking at his minions, he made a gesture for them to find out everything about him.
And unknown to Roman, who was careful enough to avoid any kind of trouble, he had still fallen into muddy waters—even with the lesser awakening trait.
...
After his awakening, Roman went to the medical room for treatment. Now he had to register his name for the Ares Interdimensional Imperial Academy of Military (AIIA) Special Class.
If he was lucky, he would be given one month to heal before being sent to AIIA's Special Classroom for Awakened. Those unfortunate souls who failed to awaken would immediately be deployed to various military bases throughout the system. Only a few fortunate ones would be trained as Assistant Battlefield Managers.
"Huh! Tonight will be like a shining sky," Roman thought. After all, today the non-awakened students would be sent to various planets and satellites, and some unfortunate souls would end up on the main battlefield ships.
Thinking all this he opened the green transparent door of awakened building, Unlike to all other novels he read in past life Lily wasn't here to cheer him saying "I know you will awaken"
"Huh! dream." But he didn't care after all this is the real world not like the novel where is all girl would fall for him.
After a little hassle and some astonishment from the staff about his C-rank talent, he finally received his Awakened ID. Now he was officially a C-rank Awakened, or an Origin Warrior.
Knowing that Lily had already returned to her dormitory after her awakening, he left Athkar School and booked a hover taxi home. He had a lot to prepare for and needed to understand his awakened talent more thoroughly.
After more than half an hour, the view outside the taxi became more urban. Though the world was high-tech, it was still just a campus for AIIA students—so some areas still lagged behind.
As night fell, Roman arrived home. He scanned his student ID to pay the taxi.
In front of him stood a three-story building, more like a modern mansion. Believe it or not, only one person lived in such a building before his parents send him here.
He used his fingerprint to unlock the door, and gem-like bulbs on the walls lit up the room.
