Chapter 11 - A linker's odsyess ch11 The morningstar incident pt3.

"AI..."

"On it."

Following my yell, AI stationed a few distance from me began ranning toward me.

We had a few seconds or so before the arrows exploded and while I was confident my colleague could survive...I wasn't so sure for myself so no matter what I needed to make sure they didn't make it down.

Placing my palms on top of each other and placing them foward, AI leaped into my unstreched palm, landing right on it and....

"Ahhhhhhhh!"

With a heart pounding scream,I applied as much strength as could mutter and tossed her up in the air with all my might.

Propelled upward with my aid, she soared up in their air, stretching her arms foward to grab the head of the falling zombies then with a twist of her body spun through the air like a graceful ballerina while swung her arm up to hauling the zombie back at the ceiling.

"Isis catch her!"

"Seth prepared another batch this time target the futher from us."

As I commanded my team the zombies crashed into the ceiling, followed by a terrible explosion the incinerated a dozen more zombies.

By then my team and I had began to move, Seth taking aim and shooting at the futher zombies on the cieling, Isis on the other hand displaying incredible leaping capabilities catch the falling, AI midair before hauling her up like a spear back at the ceiling.

Swifty grabbing one of the tendrils to avoid falling back down, she kicked the nearest zombie, her feets ripping through the corpse and separating the body in two.

Having gotten rid of one, she watched as the torse fell to the ground while their upper body slipped off the tendrils, then with a light swing threw herself at the now empty tendrils, performing a similar attack at the nearest zombie and kill it.

"She's strong."

Watching her swing from the tendril to tendril while also killing the zombies in the process I couldn't help but shurrder as I imagine how much gruesome everything would have been had she brought her weapon.

"Tch...I should have expected this."

Looking down, I caught sight of slight movement among the various carcass lying on the ground.

I could see swift movement going on between them, as torse and legs sprang up while upper body, hands and head were pierced by crismon threads originating from the school building. The threads manipulation the bodies like puppet master, guided the body to came together engulfing them in a bundle of thread that glow omnious.

"What the heck is going on?"

Confused at the sight before me,I regroup with my team.

"They seem to be fusing together." Isis commented.

"Should I punch it?"

"Nah...AI... things like this requires explosive power... let me at it."

"No!"

Shaking me head at Seth's request I began to explain.

"Have you considered the feedback of what that might caused."

Seth considering my words for a bit scratched his hair, his expression shrieking into embarrassment as he understood why reasoning.

"This is actually good in our favour....it shows our enemy is getting desperate so we kill what emerge from the knots and we attack it from the source."

"And where might that be?" Isis crossing her arms and rapidly tapping her finger's against her arms asked.

"The threads...."

"And what if they were a trap?"

"....."

"What if it's a way of our enemy trying lure us in and catch us of guard?"

"I..I..."

"The battlefield is no place for stutter."

Her piercing gaze was locked onto me as her expression damned an answer.

"Isis.."

"Enough pampering him, Seth. His no child. He can make decisions on his own."

Silence by her words Seth back off, he was still hesitant to do so but a glance from Isis was all it took to keep him in check.

"As for you AI don't you even dare still to pull what you did last time here."

Glaring daggers as the petite white hair girl Isis warned before finally focusing her gaze on me.

"Time is ticking commander, what if this is trap?, what if the enemy has more install for us?"

"I....I.... don't know damnit!" I snapped causing Isis to flinch back in surprise..no she wasn't the only one even Seth did so, as for AI she just watched me in wonder.

"I'm not a tactician nor a strategist...I'm the kind of student that still struggles with basic aledgra, what the heck do you expect me to do. Time and time again I've based my commands on assumptions and you always perform them so why questions me now..."

Isis was an obeversant person I was sure she had studied me and knew my strength and weakness so why... just why was she using it against me now.

"So you're betting our lives on you assumption."

"I asked a question damnit!"

"And I asked first." She retorted stepping foward and facing me head on.

"Are you gambling our lives on an assumption."

"I...."

Answer me!"

Grabbing my chin, she lifted my head duo to face her's.

Seeing her horrified expression, my mind went blank with negativity.

What if I answered wrongly? Will she kill me...no she couldn't as long as I was a Linker she wouldn't...but...

Should I use my abilities.... should I force her to stop, should I establish my position, should I break my code and make her submit one's and for all.

I hated this...I hated how she treated me, I always played it off by believing she was justified for I was taking her freedom, my mere existence meant she was a slave but so what.

I was human, I dislike being hated for something I had no control over. I didn't ask to be a linker...all of this I didn't want to but I had to do so why was I treated like shit.

To hell with all of this...I make her submit by forc.....

Drowning in negativity I saw it....there it was the red thread one's more...maybe.. maybe...

Entertained by a new possibility I shoved Isis back and began ranning toward the knot engulfing the numerous zombie.

I was sick of all of this disrespect... I'll show them...I show them all.

Fueled by accumulating stress and hatred I streched my hand foward and ones again I saw the crismon thread shot out from the distance this time I didn't dodge...even when I heard the scream and anguish of my teammates I didn't and welcome it.
