Right as my finger pulled out the pin and the grenade was about to explode something...no someone soared passed me like a blur, grabbing a hold of the grenade and digging it into one of the zombies guts.
"AI!"
As the blur becomes evident and took shape, I saw AI pulling her arm out the zombies as she kick it back into the horde and turning towards me with a swift dash.
Before I could even understand what she had done, she embraced me and soon after a loud explosion rippled through the hallway.
-------------
After the aftermath of the explosion a loud ring echoced in my ears as I my senses began to grow full. I found my vision moving back and forth, a feeling of discomfort growing in my mind and body.
The ringing never stopped.
They were like whispers.... whispers of death hunting me.
Clueless but conscious enough to move,I tried ranning my palms on the ground just to feel something...just to no know I was still alive but then I realized something.....
I had no hands.
For a moment my mind went blank as numerous possibilities ran through my mind... Heh numerous that was a fancy way of saying, something bad had happened.
"No..." I whispered underneath my breath and began fanatically looking around.
As my surroundings came to view I realized I was in a classroom. A dim lited empty classroom illuminated by the crismon hue of the flesh wall. I stood infornt of a window, my gaze prying down at Isis whom was straining her body to restrain a entity trapped within the crater of her making.
The sheer amount of power emitting from her body could be felt from all the way up here, as I began to notice subtle cracks spreading across the glass window.
Soon I grew more confused as I noticed I no longer felt any pain. My leg had been twisted and I had felt the blow of an explosion but here I was standing without any problem.
It was weird...so weird that I unconscious raised my palm forgotting I had non and....
"That's weird."
I heard a voice not quite like mine coming from my mouth.
"Oh... it's you."
Before I could even process what was going on my body moved on its own and faced the window ones more, this time my very being reflected on its surface.
When I fled from my team I left with the mindset that if I could control a Demiurge then what if there existed a possiblity of controlling cyptics.
I never tried it so I didn't know but I knew this was my perfect chance because this was an enemy that could never kill us nor could we kill it. It was a stalemate and the ones whom pulled a joker first was the winner. I wanted to be that joker, to take control of the Cyptics but....
I scream....I scream so my I felt this body's throat strained. I was supposed to be the joker...to be the victory...to prove I wasn't worthless....so why ...why did I make it worst.
Tear...salty tears sipped down this bodies eyes as I saw my reflection. It was hideous, so hideous I wondered to myself why I didn't notice this sooner. It was deformed, lifless with a swollen right arm but worst all it was smiling within the fracture window.
My tears was drowned by it's smile and soon it brought it swollen hand near its head and whispered soldem,"I see you."
Crash!
That last time I felt after that was unimaginable pain as the body's head was crashed within the embrace of the swollen hand.
-------------
Pain..I couldn't never grow numb to it, no matter how many times I got injuried and experienced near death, I could never grow numb but on that day I experienced true death, I felt my head crashed, my skull shatter and my brain squished.
It was haunting, agonizing but most of all a lesson that I should never go beyond my limit and because of that I finally understood what I had to do.
Walking up from that traumatizing experience I didn't panic because the worst case scenario had happened. We were dealing with a hive mind and a parasite. A cryptic that had the ability to leave parts of itself into other. It first destroyed the body from the inside, then slowly took root in the heart, eventually spreading across the nervous system and soon the brain.
One's the brain has been subjected to it's control, it lead to brain rot and eventually death so the cyptic can add it to it's collection. It could do all of that without killing the host but it seems paranoid of losing itself to the consciousness of other so it made sure it's consciousness was the only thing permanent in the hive mind. In short the hive mind of the entity consisting of it various parts of the cyptic that had gained consciousness of their own.
Meaning if the originally was killed, the other parts not eliminated could eventually developed to become as advance as the original.
In such a case their were two ways for me to handle it, cooperate with my team to unleashed an attack so powerful it would reduce everything in and out the territory to ash with the effect being giving up our lives or option two, interfering with the link.
"AI!"
Addressing the girl holding off the zombies from my left, I toss two smoke grenade towards her.
Ducking over them and turning to charging at me , a puff of white smoke exploded from the shells of the grenade, obscure the zombies vision as AI, quickly grabbed me of the ground and began ranning through the opposite direction of the hallway.
"Take me to the last floor."
Cradle within her arm like a child, I ordered. She was hesitate and almost unwilling but a quick glare from me caused her to comply as we reach the stairs on the order side and she began ascending the building.
Watching her go, I glance behind us,where a horde of zombies growing more deformed by the second chased after as like wild dogs.
With a distinct glare, I tried deciphering the red thread connecting them to the cyptic on the upper floor and to see if they functioned like my connection to the Demiurges.
