Chapter 2 - My Silent Cries Into The Wilderness

✵ AOIFE BELLE COSMO ✵

Ah! I was suddenly blinded by the light as I walked out of the cave.

"Finally found my way out! That took so long I'm beat," I said, trying to lean on the rocky wall for support.

With my weakened state, just walking a short distance had me feeling utterly exhausted.

As I looked up, I was met with an outside view that left me speechless.

What the...?

Where am I exactly?

From this vantage point, I could see the entire area below—the cave was perched atop a mountain.

The horizon stretched out before me, filled with nothing but greenery, towering trees, and distant mountains.

"Am I on another planet or something?" I wondered aloud, my voice trembling with confusion. "This is so weird! Did I somehow transmigrate like one of those characters I read in webnovels?"

Oh my ghad!

You've got to be freaking kidding me!

I was internally freaking out, subconsciously stepping back a bit as I instinctively shielded myself from the bright sunlight.

My weak body felt like a barrier, making me hesitant to venture out into this bizarre new world.

CAW! CAW! CAW!

I suddenly heard a loud noise from above.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I tried to peek out from the cave.

To my horror, I saw giant crows circling overhead.

Hhh! I gasped, my heart racing as I caught sight of their glowing red eyes, as if they could swoop down and devour me at any moment.

"Oh my ghad! Why me of all people?" I exclaimed, frustration welling up inside me.

"I really feel like crying right now!" I admitted, my voice trembling with emotion. "This is so not fair!"

A wave of panic washed over me as I remained frozen in place, waiting for the crows to disappear from my sight.

Phew! I let out a breath of relief once they were finally gone.

Gathering my courage, I stepped out of the cave and cautiously began my descent down the mountain, hoping that staying lower would keep me hidden under the towering trees.

As I made my way down, each step felt like a struggle, draining the last bit of my energy.

Eventually, I reached a single giant tree and decided to rest for a moment.

With the little strength I had left, the trek down the mountain had taken everything out of me.

With heavy breaths, I scolded, "If I got transmigrated here, shouldn't I be granted some kind of cheat system to help me navigate all of this? This really sucks!"

I continued to grumble, "Why did I even end up here? I didn't sign up for any of this! Where's my magical companion who's supposed to guide me? And why isn't there a cheat system or something? This is just ridiculous!"

Shaking my head in frustration, I added, "Seriously, I could really use some healing potions or some cool powers right now. Instead, I'm just weak and lost! How is this fair? I swear, if I don't get some help soon, I'm going to lose it!"

"Mhm... still nothing, huh?" I sighed, scanning the sky for any sign of help.

"Not even a response from heaven?" I grumbled, feeling the weight of despair.

"I'm so dead meat, huhu..." I muttered, slumping my shoulders in defeat. "What am I supposed to do now?"

I'm suddenly running out of energy; I feel like I'm about to pass out again.

"Not out in the open like this, augh!" I exclaimed, glancing anxiously at the towering trees.

Without warning, I suddenly felt my eyelids grow heavy, and my body began to give in.

I leaned against the giant tree and, before I knew it, I slipped into a deep sleep beneath its comforting shade.
