✵ AOIFE BELLE COSMO ✵
Mhm... I felt a giant leaf drop all over my body, jolting me awake.
Panic surged through me as I immediately sat up pushing the leaf away, the familiar sensation reminding me that I was no longer at home.
I was somehow stuck in this bizarre world filled with gigantic creatures and an unfamiliar environment.
As I stood up, I noticed that my body had regained some strength.
GGRRGL—!
The sudden growl of my stomach reminded me of a pressing need.
I hadn't eaten since I arrived here, and I knew I had to find something edible—if anything even existed in this strange place.
"Ugh, I might end up dying from food poisoning before I starve," I muttered, shaking my head in resignation.
"Well, I guess I just have to survive somehow. There has to be something edible around here," I continued, scanning my surroundings.
"Maybe if I keep looking, I'll find a way back home," I said to myself, forcing a hopeful smile. "I just need to persist. After all, one of those webnovel heroes had to start somewhere!"
Taking a deep breath, I encouraged myself, "Alright, Aoife, you've got this! Just think like a protagonist—adventure awaits!"
I slowly wandered through the forest, searching for something to satisfy my hunger.
Maybe a mushroom or some edible herbs would be my salvation in this vast wilderness.
Speaking of the devil, I found something!
As I explored, I stumbled upon a giant mushroom, roughly the size of my head—maybe even twice that.
"Is this even edible?" I wondered aloud, scrutinizing the peculiar patterns on its cap. "Didn't Grandpa mention that mushrooms with vibrant colors are often toxic? But this one only has bizarre markings, and we're in a different world, so things might not be the same here."
GGRRGL—!
"I'm too hungry to think rationally right now," I sighed, resigning myself to the situation. "Might as well give it a try and see what happens."
After taking a bite of the wild mushroom, an immediate ache gripped my stomach.
I clutched it, but the pain only intensified, and swirling, patterned spots began to appear on my skin, making me quite dizzy.
"Augh! It hurts so much, am I dying?" I gasped, panic rising within me.
Then, unexpectedly, my necklace began to glow.
The light felt strangely familiar, evoking memories from my life before transmigration.
It was the same radiant glow that emanated from my golden amethyst necklace just before I found myself in this new world.
FLUTTERING!
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a creature appeared—a radiant being that took the form of a panda with butterfly wings, fluttering gracefully before me.
"Greetings!" it chimed, its voice cheerful yet scolding. "What were you thinking, eating that clearly poisonous mushroom?"
I groaned, still doubled over in pain. "Are you kidding me right now? I didn't need a lecture! I'm literally struggling to breathe here!"
The panda tilted its head, appearing entirely unfazed by my distress. "You really should have known better! Ahem! Anyway, I'm Moonbeam, your cheat system."
"Well, sorry for not consulting my magical cheat system before trying to survive!" I snapped, my frustration boiling over as I grovelled in the grass. "You could have shown up before I ate the mushroom, you know! Just help me already!"
Augh! This damn panda won't shut up and help me.
The panda flapped its butterfly wings, settling down beside me with a sympathetic look. "Alright, alright, I'll help. But you really need to pay better attention to your surroundings next time."
"Yeah, yeah," I muttered, exasperation bubbling beneath the surface. "Just get me out of this mess!"
Somehow, this panda was slowly getting on my nerves.
Bad first impression, maybe.
