Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: NINETY THOUSAND

Beast cores are one of the wonders that come with the successive evolution of humans in technology. It's said that the beast core contains their origin energy, and their origin energy, in turn, can be used to forge weapons with metals, power firearms that exhibit destructive powers that are far more than the firearms on Earth before the apocalypse, and it can also do a lot of miraculous things. But there's one thing for sure: the beast core, though not irreplaceable, is very important in human technology, and they are cheap and easier to find than others.

It's been just thirty minutes since Wallace left before he waltzed back into the hunters association towards the only free receptionist in the large hall. She was the one that helped Wallace with processing. She looked at him and smiled meaningfully after seeing his arm that had claw marks and his disheveled appearance. She thought Wallace must have been scared off by a beast, seeing him enter without any weapon or firearm. She was sure he was at least going to die there because, from his age, it showed that he was a newly awakened evolver. His coming back was a surprise to her.

"I guess it did not go well then," she asked. He did not answer as he looked at her and dropped the dark pinky crystal core. Her eyes widened when she saw that, clearly not expecting Wallace to be able to get a beast.

"Did you get those yourself?" she asked.

"Will you examine it and give me my money?" he asked.

"Hmm," she nodded and brought a device that was used to test the core out.

"This is a first-order soldier beast," she said.

"According to the price, a first-order soldier beast core is a hundred thousand dollars, and removing charges from it, you will be given ninety thousand dollars," she said. To a normal person, ninety thousand dollars, if they are frugal, is enough for them to spend for a long time, but to evolvers, it is nothing, and this is the reason.

"How much for a first-order nest crystal?" he asked.

"Fifty thousand dollars," she answered. Within just a moment, he had blown off fifty thousand like that on just a first-order nest crystal, and it is said that the second order is ten times more expensive, and it goes like that for each order.

"How much for grade F nutrition pellet?" he asked.

"A thousand dollars for each," she answered.

"A first-order nest crystal and ten grade F nutrition pellets," he said.

"Wait, I'm coming," she answered as she typed into her system.

Very soon, a box was delivered to her. "Thirty thousand dollars remaining," she said. Wallace gave up his ATM that did not have any money for years, and the money was transferred. A thousand dollars was removed from the account again for the activation of the account.

He turned around, and the receptionist looked at him as he made his way out before picking up her cell and dialing a number.

"A promising cadet found now," she said as she transferred Wallace's information to the people she was talking to.

He hummed as he took the box and made his way out of the hunter's organization. His heart contained complex thoughts; he was almost penniless when he came here, but now, he had enough to last him for some days.

He took a taxi downtown and made his way to a boutique where he spent another ten thousand dollars getting three dark suits along with some casual clothing.

Meanwhile, far away from the Nevartan city, there is a place that is said to be the most secure place on Earth. It is the Capital Federation City, a city that has the main headquarters of the Unified Earthlings Federation, a federation that serves as the government.

They monitor everything that happens with Earthlings and are said to be the center of the ones bringing about change to Earthlings. Inside the white headquarters building that gives the impression of going to the sky, there is a restricted floor. The restricted floor is said to be the one at the top of the city, but is it so?

Inside the restricted room, five people sat around a table. These five are known as the strongest controllers of Earth and the strongest of humanity. These are the ones controlling the UEF, and they make up half of the strongest powerhouses on Earth.

The first one is a middle-aged man, Kyle Gordon, from the Giant Gordon family, a family of blacksmiths capable of divine talent. The second one is Barbara Gold from the Golden family, which controls the pharmaceutical industry. An elemental with divine-grade talent.

The third one is a man. He looked like he was fifty years old, Lauel Green from the Green family, a family that is very skilled in the production of firearms. He is a mythic with heaven-grade talent.

The fourth one is a man who looked like he was in his seventies. He is Logan Woods, from the Woods family. A family that specializes in technology that spans all walks of life, from agriculture to transportation. Anything that makes life easier for Earthlings is controlled by them. He is a diviner with heaven-grade talent.

The last one is a lady who looked like seventeen and she is Audria Macho from the Macho family. This family specializes in mecha; they are said to own seventy percent of the mecha warriors. She is a mecha warrior with divine-grade talent.

Logan was the one who organized the meeting, and they had to rush here.

"I had to call you here because of an important issue," Logan started.

"One of my spies in the hunters organization just called me to tell me she's found a talent," he said.

"A talent," Audria asked.

"Is it someone with divine-grade talent?" she asked.

"I don't know yet," he answered. "Then why did you call us here?" Barbara asked.

A face appeared on the projector. The eyes of the five of them widened as they saw the face. "Wallace," Barbara exclaimed.

"But how, his talent is wasted," she asked.

"I don't want to know how, but all I know is, he has just undergone his awakening and he is able to hunt a first-order soldier beast with just a little bit of injury. It means his talent must be back, and it's dangerous for us," his face turned severe.

"You know what we did to him after his parent died," he asked.

"What should we do now?" Kyle asked.

"Kill him," Audria answered.

"What!!" Lauel exclaimed.

"With what we've done to the boy and what his parent has gone through, it will not be surprising if he turns against humanity, and he has a great talent, so let's nip him in the bud," Audria said. Everyone fell into deep thought as they could not help but agree with it.

"I guess we all agree then," Logan said.

"Wait," a voice was heard, and the elevator opened while a beautiful lady made her way in. The lady looked like she was twenty-five with white hair and deep blue eyeballs.

"What does the chairman of the respected hunters association want from us?" Logan asked.

"My grandpa wants me to drop the message that no one must touch the boy. He will take care of the boy himself," she answered.

After returning home, Wallace made himself a nutritious and delicious meal that he did not know when last he had it. He was able to get some minor foodstuff with the money and also some ingredients. He sat at his dining table alone, well on the floor, as he ate.

His mind could not help but wander back to the days he was not alone. His parents, along with visitors, smiling at them, would come congratulating them on an achievement while praising his talent. It all started when he lost his talent; all the so-called friends he had stopped visiting, and when his parents died and he lost everything, he did not see anything.

For the first time in a while, as he had already paid the light bills for a month, the appliances in the house were working. He looked up at the working chandelier. "It sure was lively then," he muttered as two lines of tears fell down from his face.

He wiped his tears as he sat down and continued eating. He soon finished eating and washed the dishes before he sat in the large living room and took out a bottle containing ten pale red pills. They are the grade F nutrition pellets that let the cells prepare for the entrance of nest energy.

He popped one into his mouth before taking out the deep blue crystal. He went to the shop and spent ten skill points on getting the chaotic absorption method that would allow him to absorb the nest energy.

He felt a large amount of information enter his head all at once, and it took him close to a minute to absorb everything. He then focused on the crystal; evolvers have a kind of sense unique to them that allows them to absorb the nest energy, just like their nose.

He ran the chaotic absorption method through his body, and he felt a large amount of energy enter his body, melding with his cells, making his cells hyperactive, while minute changes happened to his cell.
