Chapter 10 - New Name

Before the old man could reply, they heard footsteps coming, the young man whom they had given a robe to came back after cleaning himself in the river.

He looked like a living celestial who had descended from the heavens. His black hair looked like it hid the cosmic river, while his dark black eyes seemed like the bottomless abyss. His unblemished skin only enhanced his overall appeal.

The old man and old lady nodded in approval, "You are one outstanding young man. Even your appearance is divine."

Primus didn't know how to react to that praise, so he just calmly smiled. The old man thought even more highly of him now; not only was he calm in front of praises, he also didn't turn arrogant from them.

"Come, sit, sit, eat some of this fine meat." The old man took out a picnic blanket and placed it beside the softly burning fire.

Primus's lips twitched seeing the shamelessness of the old man, but he didn't mention it and sat down. He had no other option; he wasn't strong enough to oppose the old couple.

"So, tell me, what's your name?" The old man kindly smiled and asked.

Primus hesitated this time. He didn't know if he should tell the old man his real name or not, but the old woman beside him sat down beside him and calmly placed her hand on top of his.

"You don't need to be afraid of us. We won't hurt you." She softly said in a calm voice.

He took a deep breath and finally said with some difficulty, "P-Primus."

The old man looked weirdly at him, "Primus? Really? Who even takes such a name?"

But the old woman instead glared at the old man, "Old bastard, watch whose fun you are making. I will pluck your beard out."

The old man's laugh stopped abruptly. he coughed and looked at Primus again, "Hmm…not to be rude, but this name is not appropriate to use for you now. Once you have made a name for yourself, then even if you use dogshit as a name, people will glorify it and praise it to the high heavens."

The old lady also exhaled a sigh, "Even if I want to disagree with him, he is right, child. You should think of a different name to use in your day-to-day life instead."

Primus made a difficult face; even he knew how ridiculous his name was. He had thought about using an alias, but he couldn't come up with a good name.

He raised his head, looking at the old lady, "Can…can you give me a name?" He still wasn't used to talking in the native language of this world.

The old couple also noticed his awkward speech; they thought he might not have much human contact in this wilderness, that is why he was like this.

"Hmm, how about…Orion?" The old lady softly said.

'Orion…huh? It sounds nice.' He nodded to himself after thinking for a bit.

"Orion…then I will be called Orion from henceforth." He slowly said.

The old man and woman both smiled with relief; they didn't know what to do about him if he decided to use Primus as his name.

"Good, Orion, so tell me, what are you doing so deep into the forest? And naked as well?"

Orion turned his face towards the old man and thought for a second, "I…don't know, when I woke up, I was already here."

The old man looked suspiciously at him, but he didn't detect any lie in his magic.

"How long have you been inside this forest?" the old lady instead asked.

Orion calculated for a bit, "I just woke up here, and have been roaming around for…I think around a few hours. I have no other memory of this world."

Both the old man and the old woman looked at him in surprise. They didn't expect him to be a lost soul. Their gazes softened a lot. The old man opened up a lot more and said, "Orion, why don't you come back with me? You might starve to death here if you stay for long. Even if you found some meat of a Magic Beast this time, that doesn't mean you will be lucky enough for that again."

The old man thought he had already figured out where Orion had found the meat of the beast from.

"Magic…Beast?" He asked in confusion.

"Ah, how silly of me, I forgot you don't know anything about our place. So you see, Magic Beasts are these powerful creatures filled with mana who roam this world, but they are also divided into tiers. But we can discuss them later. For now, what do you think about heading to our home?" The old man gave a rough explanation before asking again.

Orion already knew about the magic beasts from the Dragon's inheritance, but to not make them suspicious, he still asked the question. He looked at both of them suspiciously, but inwardly he was beaming with joy.

'Hahaha yes, I got two supporters in this world already! I just need to act for a bit more before accepting it. I don't sense any malicious intent from them towards me, even with the Dragon's instincts.' He had already thoroughly analyzed the situation and decided the best route for himself.

The old man and old lady looked at each other, "Lad, we don't have malicious intention towards you, if we had, we wouldn't have bothered with you so muc—"

Before he could finish his words, a fist hit his head, "Stop scaring him, you damn old geezer." The old lady fiercely shouted.

She then turned to Orion and smiled kindly, "Let me first introduce myself, my name is Selene Helstrom. You can call me Grandma Selene." She then narrowed her eyes towards the old man.

"Cough, this one is named Eldric Helstrom. You can call me Grandpa Eldric." He softly smiled and explained.

'Wasn't this old hag wary of this boy and was nearly against approaching him? Women are truly fickle-minded.' Eldric inwardly complained.
