The battle raged on, the Purple Crystal Winged Lion King unleashing wave after wave of violent energy. Yun Yun and the strange warrior—Kaiser, as he had introduced himself mid-fight—moved in tandem, their attacks complementing each other despite never having fought together before.
Yun Yun would strike with precision, her wind-infused sword slicing through the lion's defenses, while Kaiser fought up close, matching the beast's raw power with nothing but his fists.
She had never seen someone like him. No Dou Qi. No techniques. Just pure, terrifying strength.
But the lion was no ordinary opponent. It was an intelligent Magical Beast, and it had been holding something back.
The air crackled as the beast suddenly let out a thunderous roar, its purple mane igniting with a strange energy.
Before Yun Yun could react, a burst of invisible pressure slammed into her.
She gasped as an unbearable weight pressed down on her body, forcing her to her knees. Her Dou Qi—her very life force—felt as if it had been sealed away.
Kai Xuan Seal!
Her eyes widened in horror. The lion had locked away her ability to use Dou Qi.
She was defenseless.
"Kaiser!" she called out, her voice laced with urgency.
Kaiser barely spared her a glance. He had already charged forward, fist cocked back, meeting the beast head-on.
"Stay put, princess," he called over his shoulder, a cocky grin on his face. "I'll handle this".
Yun Yun's chest tightened—not just from fear, but from frustration. She had fought her entire life to never be someone who needed saving. And now, here she was, helpless in the middle of a battlefield.
She forced herself to move, to stand, but her body felt heavy and slow. The Kai Xuan Seal was still suppressing her energy.
And then—
A blur of silver and purple flashed in front of her.
Pain exploded in her chest.
The beast's massive claw struck her directly, tearing through her armor and sending her flying.
She hit the ground hard, coughing as blood splattered across the dirt. Her vision blurred.
Damn it…
She could hear Kaiser's voice, but it sounded distant.
Kaiser stopped moving the moment he saw Yun Yun fall.
The smirk on his face vanished.
A cold, dark rage settled in his golden eyes.
"…That was a mistake," he muttered.
The Purple Crystal Winged Lion King snarled, preparing for another strike, but it never got the chance.
Because in the next second, Kaiser was gone.
A deafening boom shattered the air as his fist collided with the lion's skull.
The sheer force of the punch dented the ground beneath them, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. The beast howled in agony, its massive body crashing into the mountainside.
Kaiser didn't let up. He was relentless.
Ducking under the beast's desperate claw swipe, he slammed his knee into its ribs, sending it airborne. Before it could even hit the ground, he appeared above it, both fists clenched together, and brought them crashing down on its back.
The impact cratered the entire area.
The Purple Crystal Winged Lion King didn't get back up.
Silence.
Kaiser exhaled, rolling his shoulders as he dusted himself off. "Tch. Thought you'd last a little longer."
His rage melted away almost instantly as he turned his gaze toward the small trembling figure near the rocks.
Cat Fanatic Mode: Activated
The cub.
Its tiny body shook as it stared at him with wide, scared eyes.
Kaiser's tail twitched.
His serious expression vanished in an instant, replaced by a look of pure adoration.
"Ohhh, you're adorable," he cooed, scooping the tiny creature into his arms.
The cub let out a weak little growl, but it was too small to be threatening.
Kaiser grinned like an idiot.
"You're just a little fluffball, aren't you?" He kissed the top of the cub's head, rubbing his cheek against its soft fur. His tail wagged uncontrollably. "Look at these tiny paws! So soft! So squishy!"
The cub squirmed, but Kaiser was completely lost in his own world.
Yun Yun, still barely conscious, managed to crack open her eyes.
She expected to see Kaiser standing victoriously over the defeated beast. Instead, she saw a battle-hardened warrior cuddling a baby lion like an idiot.
"…What?" she croaked weakly.
Kaiser froze mid-squeeze.
Then, as if just remembering that she existed, he turned toward her.
"Oh, right. You're still bleeding."
Kaiser rushed over, placing the cub on his shoulder as he crouched beside Yun Yun. His usual cocky grin was gone, replaced with something more serious.
He looked at the deep wound on her chest and let out a sharp breath. "Damn, that looks bad."
She wanted to retort—something about how he was cuddling a cub while she was bleeding to death—but her body was too weak.
Kaiser didn't waste time. He carefully lifted her into his arms.
"Alright, princess. No dying on me."
She barely had the strength to glare at him.
"…Stop calling me that."
"Sure thing, princess."
She wanted to hit him.
But unconsciousness took her first. He decided to take her back to his house. For treatment ofcourse 😏
'A goddess like her laying in my arms... I never thought such a thing could happen. I wonder if I can start my own Harem here?.... Maybe get Ya fei and Medusa aswell' he thought smiling like a complete lunatic.
By the time Yun Yun woke up, the first thing she noticed was…
A bed. A real, soft, warm bed.
She blinked, her mind sluggish as she tried to process her surroundings. This wasn't the Misty Cloud Sect. It wasn't a cave or a makeshift resting spot.
It was a modern-looking bedroom, with dimly lit bed lamps on both sides.
The scent of something sweet lingered in the air.
And then, she felt movement beside her.
Slowly, she turned her head—only to see the cub curled up beside her pillow, happily snuggled into the blankets.
She stared at it.
Then, she remembered everything.
The battle. Her injuries. Kaiser.
Before she could even sit up, the door swung open.
Kaiser stepped inside, a towel slung over his shoulder. His tail flicked lazily as he smirked at her.
"Yo, sleeping beauty. You're finally up."
Yun Yun groaned, closing her eyes again.
She wasn't sure if she had survived the battle… or stepped into a completely different kind of nightmare.
