[A G-rank bandit has entered your dungeon. You gain 15 dungeon points.]
Earning points is simple: people must enter the dungeon and die. The stronger they are, the more points they give. Notoriety is also important—an adventurer of G-rank will yield more than a bandit of the same rank, simply by being an adventurer. Unless the bandit is famous, but that applies to all adventurers or any other well-known person.
I decided to go meet him as soon as he entered the dungeon, just to observe. Yeah, I'm playing with fire! But I'm too curious!
Except… I quickly regretted it! That bastard threw some kind of kunai at me! I ran for my life, but that jerk kept chasing me and hit me several times. I thought I was going to die right then and there!
Luckily, I spotted a hole I had dug during the week of waiting and slipped into it. Hehehe ~ It was a good idea to dig these all over my dungeon!
The bandit tried to chase me through the maze, but he got lost—what an idiot! I designed these small tunnels so that they lead to places that take a long time to reach on foot if you move normally through the labyrinth.
I'm going to get revenge! How dare he try to kill such an adorable white-pink slime like me?!
I went to see the slime queens and started crying.
"Kyuuu! Kyuun! (A mean ugly guy hit me!)"
"Pyuun?! (What?!)"
"Ayuun! (Where is that bastard?!)"
The two queens sent me slime guards—one normal and one acidic. Each of them had another guard of their kind inside them, accompanied by many normal and acidic slimes. Acidic slime guards are as strong as an F-rank monster, while normal ones are at the peak of G-rank. As for the regular slimes, whether normal or acidic, they are all G-rank.
Thanks to my map, which marks the bandit's location with a gray dot (while my monsters appear as blue dots), I was able to guide my army straight to him!
A normal slime quietly approached the bandit and let out a small cry to get his attention. As soon as the bandit spotted it, he threw kunai at it. The slime got hit but immediately fled toward our position.
Then, the acidic slime guard launched a jet of acid at the bandit, catching him completely off guard. At first, when he only saw the three of us, he laughed. But when the other two slime guards and the rest of our army appeared, he wasn't laughing anymore!
As for me, I hid using my Puddle skill, transforming into a puddle of acid and blending in with the others on the ground.
The bandit drew his daggers and started slashing and stabbing the slimes, but with all the acid jets and whiplike attacks from the slimes using their own bodies as weapons, he was quickly cornered.
He then threw a smoke bomb to escape. But with my map, we immediately chased after him. His entire right side, from his hip up, was corroded by the acid, and many of his bones were shattered!
When he ran toward the exit and I saw that he was getting close to the trapped treasure chest, I ordered all the slimes to stop. Noticing that nothing was chasing him anymore, he paused to catch his breath.
Then, slowly standing up, he resumed walking. He encountered a few slimes along the way, but he easily killed them… until he stumbled upon another group of normal and acidic slimes!
Panicked, he ran for his life and finally reached the chest. When he opened it… BOOM! It exploded!
To think he was so happy to have found it!
But I can't blame him. After all, in good chests, you can find real treasures. It's one of the ways dungeons lure people in.
The bandit didn't die instantly. Crawling back, he eventually ran into another group of slimes… This time, he couldn't escape.
[The G-rank bandit has died. You gain 50 dungeon points.]
Not bad, but honestly, I would've preferred if he had escaped. If he had made it out alive, rumors of a new dungeon would have spread, attracting more visitors.
Oh well, someone will come here eventually. In the meantime, I started thinking about new monster spawners.
First, I chose… rats!
[You have purchased a King Rat and a Queen Rat. You spend 20 points.]
These monsters aren't really here to attack explorers but rather to serve as food for future monsters. Slimes don't need to eat or drink; they can survive just like that. But not all creatures can.
Besides, rats eat each other!
Next… I checked the [Dungeon Points Store]. I needed water, but creating a new room either cost too many points or too much mana with the Dungeon Crystal.
So, I went with:
A Water Slime Queen (60 points).
These slimes naturally leave puddles of water behind, providing drinking water for the rats. In addition to my racial skills, water slimes have Water Slash, an attack that sends a crescent-shaped blade of water.
I placed the King and Queen Rat in a far corner away from the slimes to prevent them from being attacked too soon. Their roaming area covers the entire dungeon.
As for the Water Slime Queen, I placed her with the other two queens. Her slimes will move the same way as the other slime guards and regular slimes.
Well, now that I'm out of points, all I can do is wait for more explorers!
