Lorien's POV
The mirror of the past would never lie, it could not be corrupted by caelum dark powers either.
The mark on Seraphina's hand meant that she was from the Caelum bloodline, no wonder she objected to almost everything I said.
"Hand over Seraphina to me and I'll spare your lives," Caelum stated as the mirror disappeared.
"I'm not an object you can carry away anyhow, Caelum; I will never allow you to take me away!" Seraphina shouted back at him.
I watched as Caelum grinned and appeared in front, I gritted my teeth.
"Stay away from my woman Caelum"
"Your woman?" He scoffed and he circled Seraphina slowly.
"This is not your woman, Lorien; you're just too stubborn to accept." He added, placing his hand on her shoulder, but she shook it off, her eyes glowing with anger.
"You've got to kill me before taking her Caelum," I replied, and Seraphina's gaze fell on me.
"I don't fight unjustly, Lorien, I could vanish with her right now, but I won't do that." He said as he walked to me.
"A war… I'll fight against you if you win…. she yours but if I win, you will leave us alone forever," I said to his face.
He laughed.
"A war? You? win a war against me?" He seemed amused but I did not care.
"A war then; start preparing for the war, Lorien and you." He said as he pointed to Seraphina.
"Get ready to come home with me, you will love it there." He added and vanished on the spot.
The shadows that held Seraphina also vanished.
She ran towards me and hugged me, my fangs went back in place and I patted her back.
"You're going nowhere," I said reassuringly.
"A war against Caelum, Alpha? Is this a good idea?" Alistair asked, concerned.
"It's our duty to protect my woman, she's the queen and my mate! Will you allow him to take away the woman who has helped us numerous times?" I fumed.
"I'm sorry, Alpha, but we all know Caelum has support from dark forces."
"He does but we are not weak, are we?"
They nodded negatively, and I squared my shoulders; it was time to fight against our greatest enemy.
Prepare the war horns and the battle equipment, we will fight with everything we have got." I commanded and they all bowed and then left.
"Can't we just talk things out with him, Lorien?" Seraphina asked me, she looked scared.
"He's not ready to talk things out Seraphina, and I promise you. I won't let him have you." I replied and she smiled lightly.
I knew this day would come but I was ready.

Seraphina's POV
The battle went on for weeks, we had to leave the castle and make tents outside the kingdom. He left the affairs of the kingdom in one of his most trusted allies' hands.
Lorien didn't want me to come and stay in the tent with him nor did he want me to stay in the castle alone so Caelum wouldn't come and see me.
He finally agreed that I stay with him in the tent, but I wouldn't fight by his side.
Soon, Lorien started losing the battle. He got wounded most times and I wished the battle would just stop.
He had left my side at dawn with most of the soldiers to raid Caelum's soldier tents. I was left alone with a few soldiers and my maids.
I was deep in thought when suddenly I felt drowsy, my stomach churned as I ran outside. My maids followed me and watched as I spilled the content in my mouth. I could not control it.
Two of them held me carefully and the two others washed my face with warm water. I breathed heavily as they led me inside.
I wondered what I had eaten last night.
"Do you mind if I check your symptoms, my queen?" One of them said.
I nodded and she came to me, opened my eyes wide, and massaged my stomach gently. I watched with curiosity.
She suddenly widened her eyes with excitement and moved backward, bowing to me immediately.
"What is wrong," I asked nervously.
"The heir is on its way my queen! The alpha will be so pleased!" she announced happily and they all bowed.
I was shocked and at the same time, my head reeled with joy. Pregnancy?
That was not even on my to-do list.
I remember the intimate moments Lorien and I had together and touched my stomach softly. Those moments have turned into a small human growing in me.
"I am about to mark and make you mine, Seraphina. This will be a night you never forget and will always remember, the decision you make tonight will make an impact on your life. Do you agree?"
I agreed, and those moments have had an impact on my life; I was sad and happy at the same time.
Sad that the baby had to come when its father was at war but happy as I'll take care of a baby with Lorien in our splendid castle.
I'll surely shower my baby with lots of love and affection.
I could not wait for Lorien to defeat Caelum and come back to me.
"You have to take plenty of water and rest as long as you can my queen….
I heard horses neighed outside, I leaped on my feet and ran outside. My Alpha had arrived! My heart reeled with anticipation!
How was I going to inform him?
My smile dropped as I saw the scene before me, the guardsmen had been killed brutally. I placed my hand on my stomach guarding it.
"Ahh…here is my beautiful queen."
Caelum announced on his horse. Lorien's hands were tied with a long rope to Caelum's horse. He was on his knees, weak and seriously wounded.
"I'm sorry." He muttered.
I became heartbroken but I hid my expression and looked up to Callum.
"Release him!" I commanded angrily, my maids hurried to my front, shielding me.
"You will take the queen over our dead bodies!" they said in unison.
"So shall it be."
I watched as the four of their necks snapped and their head rolled off, their blood splashing on my face and body as they fell.
I closed my eyes in disdain. "May God forgive your sins," I murmured.
"Now, now… look at how they have stained you, my queen." He said as he got down from his horse.
I knew I could do nothing; proving stubborn would only anger him, and he could hurt Lorien.
I got on my knees slowly and looked at Lorien hopefully.
"Please let him go and I'll do everything you say." I pleaded as tears fell in my eyes.
"Not yet, Seraphina; I can't let him go yet."
He replied as he stood behind me.
"I won't let any other man touch me apart from my Alpha." I looked at Lorien and brought out the small knife in my pocket.
Lorien raised his head and gave me a negative nod.
Maybe in another life, I'll get to spend time with Lorien and raise children with him.
"Seraphina, No!" He shouted helplessly.
"I love you, Lorien," I said as I raised the knife and brought it down to my stomach; suddenly, my hands became stiff, and everywhere turned dark, just like when I had the accident.
My body hit the ground and I could hear caelum words before I lost consciousness completely.
"She is so dramatic….

Lorien's POV
I was so ashamed of myself. I wonder how Seraphina will see me now.
A weak king!
I bowed my head in shame, this would be the first time I'd be defeated all my life.
I have always won war, not defeated and it was because of the dark magic he had.
I had seen my mother on Caelum's side when we met to raid their tent. She was his supporter.
I felt betrayed and broken, even Alistair was amazed.
I hoped Seraphina was well.
She looked so excited when she hurried out of the tent, she must have thought her mate had won the battle.
And the way Caelum carried her in his arms after he used his magic on her to pass out. My heart raged, but I was weak; he had used dark magic on me,, so I was useless.
I should have known that it was Elara who sent Shadow of the Past to attack Seraphina. She was cruel but I'd never thought she'd be cruel to me.
I'm just glad Caelum wouldn't let Seraphina kill herself.
She would not agree to a marriage with him, this I know.

Seraphina's POV
I had a throbbing headache as I sat up slowly. The last thing I remember was a blackout and Callum's voice!
I looked around, the chamber was dark and different. I quickly stood up and looked around, it was not a cell.
It had every necessary thing a woman's chamber should have.
Did my soul Enter another person's body?
I panicked.
I looked down at my clothes and realized the gown was different from the one I wore the last time.
What era is this?
I saw a mirror and ran to its front, I was still me!
I was still Seraphina!
I immediately clutched my stomach and looked around again. Where was I?
Did caelum stop me from killing myself? That bastard!
He must have held Lorien captive, I had to talk to him.
I was about to storm outside when I felt the dark presence.
Caelum!
"You should at least leave a message about where you are going." He said, his figure coming out from the wall.
I stood my ground. "Where is Lorien? Where am I!"
"Your Alpha is now a prisoner in my dungeon and you're in my castle." He retorted as he walked to my front.
"Can you let him go? You have issues with me, not him." I stated harshly yet softly.
"You just have to agree to my command and I'll release your sweet mate." He responded rather rudely.
"What is it?"
"You already know, marry me."
I laughed and his expression turned sour.
"I can never marry you, caelum; I'm only meant for my Alpha. I can wash and scrub your castle but I can't marry you." I responded giving him a firm look.
He grinned and nodded his head. " I see, I'll torture your Alpha and you will stumble to my command eventually."
I realised my words triggered him and I had to amend myself.
"Please…
"You will see how my men have been treating your mate through that mirror." He interrupted me and left the room.
I fell on the floor. I needed to act, fast!
