"You believe me now?" Areeba snapped.
Zoya's face was pale. She rubbed her arms. "Maybe."
Sana Javed sighed, stirring her tea. "You two need to stop reading Twitter horror stories."
Zoya shot her a glare. "Come with us tonight, then."
Sana raised an eyebrow. "Fine. But when I'm right, you both owe me biryani."
That night, all three girls walked to the alley.
The dogs were there.
The hungry one, waiting.
And the others… eating something wrapped in blue fabric.
Sana's smirk faded.Areeba whispered, "Now do you believe us?"
Sana's voice was tight. "This… this is stupid. It doesn't mean anything."
The next night, against her better judgment, Sana brought food.
The hungry dog ate.
And the blue fabric was gone.
Something else was in its place.
A piece of black cloth.
A low, eerie whisper echoed through the alley.
"One by one… the shadows come."
Areeba grabbed Sana's hand. "RUN!"
They didn't stop until they were out of the alley.
