Chapter 19 - Chapter 9

Pablo Lorenzo arrived at his house with Lucifer, who let him in with a smile that barely concealed his true nature. The house was submerged in an unsettling gloom, with elongated shadows dancing on the walls from the dim light of a flickering lamp. The air was thick, as if hell itself had filtered into the place. Convinced that he had deceived the prince of darkness, Pablo quickly headed to the bathroom, claiming an urgent need.

—Ruwi, please answer me—Pablo begged, holding his phone with trembling hands. His eyes reflected the tension gnawing at him, and his breath was ragged.

After a tense pause, Ruwi finally responded, his voice tinged with curiosity and concern.

—What's going on, Pablo? Why are you calling at this hour?—he asked, noticing the tension in his friend's tone.

—Listen, my friend. I'm going to avenge Camila. I've made Lucifer believe I've been manipulated—Pablo replied, determination burning in his eyes like two embers in the darkness.

Worry gripped Ruwi.

—That sounds dangerous. Get out of there!—he exclaimed, trying to make him see the imminent risk.

However, Pablo hung up, determined to go through with it. With a resolute gesture, he drew his golden-handled sword, the blade gleaming with a nearly divine glow. He donned his celestial armor, adorned with intricate golden details that seemed to pulse with an ethereal shine. The fish symbol on his chest glowed, as if responding to the unyielding will of its wearer.

With his heart pounding, he ran toward the living room. The air grew heavier, thick with the stench of sulfur and death. Lucifer waited there, seated on a crimson velvet armchair. The mocking smile on his face radiated a cold malice. The shadows of the room twisted around him, as if the darkness itself responded to his presence.

Pablo attempted to strike with a battle cry, but Lucifer dodged the attack with an unsettling ease, as if he had anticipated every move.

—Did you really think you could deceive me?—Lucifer said, his voice resonating with a mix of fury and amusement.

Without warning, the demon unsheathed his sword, a blade black as night, covered in inscriptions that seemed to writhe with a reddish glow. With terrifying speed, he began attacking mercilessly. Each slash echoed with a supernatural resonance, vibrating the walls. Pablo dodged some blows, but others shattered his armor with a deafening crack. A powerful blow to his stomach sent him crashing into the wall, kicking up dust and splinters from the worn floor. Lucifer, with a cruel laugh, grabbed him and slammed him into the ground repeatedly, leaving cracks around him.

Despite the chaos, Pablo found an opportunity and struck Lucifer in the back. For a moment, the mockery vanished from Lucifer's face, replaced by a flicker of surprise. However, the demon was not intimidated. With a guttural growl, he gathered his strength and unleashed a wave of darkness that caused Pablo to collapse to his knees. The malignant energy surrounded him like a whirlwind, freezing his skin and crushing his chest with a suffocating force.

With a snap of his fingers, Lucifer conjured a cage made of human bones, trapping the young man inside. The bars exuded a fetid vapor, and every time Pablo touched them, a burning pain shot through his body.

—Your plan has failed, friend. But at least you've caught the attention of the others—Lucifer mocked, as he awaited the arrival of Jesus' sent ones.

—Damn you!—Pablo shouted, his fury burning as he desperately tried to escape the cage.

Lucifer, devoid of compassion, lunged at him, hitting him violently and stripping him of his armor. The pieces clattered to the ground with a metallic echo, leaving Pablo unprotected. He continued the brutal beating until the young man was half-dead, his blood staining the floor like dark petals of a withered flower. Lucifer laughed maniacally, satisfied with the wounds he had inflicted.

From Ruwi's house, the worry for his friend Pablo Lorenzo grew like an ominous shadow. Outside, the night loomed with a sky covered in dense clouds, leaving only small flashes of light between them.

—What's going on, Ruwi?—Rosenda asked, noticing the unease on his face.

—Pablo Lorenzo went to attack Lucifer—Ruwi replied, distressed, feeling a chill run down his spine.

—That's crazy!—Valeria said, her eyes wide with shock.

—Let's go, quickly, to his house; I've located him—Daniel responded, looking at the GPS on his phone with urgency in his eyes.

With a flash of determination, Ruwi took his weapon. The night seemed to stretch around them, as if the world itself was warning of the danger they were about to face.

—Valeria, do you know how to use a sword?—Daniel asked, his tone reflecting the urgency of the situation.

—I've practiced fencing—Valeria answered, gripping her sword firmly. Her reflection in the gleaming blade showed the resolve in her gaze.

The team was ready to face Lucifer and rescue their friend Pablo Lorenzo. The night enveloped them in its dark mantle, and the demon's threat loomed over them like a hungry beast. But their friendship was a beacon in the midst of chaos, a light impossible to extinguish. With the echo of their footsteps resonating in the deserted street, they plunged into the darkness, determined to challenge the prince of darkness himself.
