Chapter 8 - chapter 8

With the help of Jarvis, Tony quickly recovered from the dizziness caused by the time travel.

[World travel completed. The mission has been issued.]

The mission of the Lord God Space was projected directly onto Tony's retina in the form of a notification.

Mission World: Resident Evil

World Difficulty: LV5-LV20

World Source: 0% (This is a crucial factor in determining the final score for the world.)

World Introduction: The T-Virus outbreak has infected the citizens of Raccoon City, transforming the once peaceful city into a nightmarish wasteland. In an attempt to contain the virus and conceal the outbreak, the Umbrella Corporation plans to drop a nuclear bomb on Raccoon City after a certain period.

Main Mission: Rescue and Kill

Warning: The T-virus is highly contagious. Infected individuals lose all cognitive ability and transform into mindless, flesh-hungry zombies. Due to a delay in mission timing, the difficulty of the mission has been increased.

Tip: Do not leave the designated area and proceed with caution, as any deviation will greatly increase the mission's difficulty.

"Resident Evil?" Tony read the mission details with mild curiosity and began formulating a plan.

Considering the mission's goal, he studied the main objectives.

Save and Kill

Mission Introduction: Innocent civilians shouldn't pay the price for Umbrella Corporation's wrongdoings. Save the civilians and ensure that Umbrella pays for its actions.

Mission Tip: During the mission, Alice must survive. If she dies, the mission fails.

Saves: 0

Kills: 0

Mission Reward: All functions of the Lord God Space will be enabled, and the level lock will be removed.

"Alice... doesn't ring a bell," Tony muttered, curling his lips. "Jarvis, hack into the Gangworld network and try to control the satellites."

"The invasion begins..." Jarvis acknowledged, connecting to the world's satellite system through the wireless network.

"Encountered resistance. The resistance is AI-based. The counterattack is intense. Success rate: 0.12%. Continue?"

"Stop the intrusion!" Tony immediately interrupted Jarvis and quickly constructed multiple firewalls to secure their position.

[Tip: The difficulty of the world has increased.]

The resistance from this world exceeded Tony's expectations. Though the street-level technology appeared outdated, it was evident that those behind this world possessed capabilities far beyond what was visible.

This early attempt at intrusion likely raised suspicions, which would explain the increase in mission difficulty.

In the Hive, the artificial intelligence "Red Dog" quickly ran diagnostics, trying to trace the origins of Jarvis's digital footprint.

However, Tony's prompt actions ensured that Red Dog only identified the general location of Jarvis—Raccoon City—without pinpointing his exact coordinates.

"Information upload..."

"Error: Data loss. Upload failed..."

The computer systems in the Hive flashed those two error messages. Umbrella Corporation received a warning about a potential satellite breach, but no direct evidence of Jarvis's location.

"This reincarnation is a bit different..." mused the projection of the Red Queen, the AI running the Hive's main control system. "I hope this world's events will shift this time."

With that, the Red Queen discreetly altered her underlying code to prevent detection by Umbrella, making sure to cover her tracks.

Though not without its challenges, Tony's efforts bore fruit. As the Red Queen inadvertently eased up on her defenses, Jarvis successfully retrieved a full map of Raccoon City, along with some personnel data related to Umbrella's operations.

Tony studied the electronic map and, after a moment's thought, scratched his chin.

"Jarvis, hide our presence. Hack into the Raccoon City surveillance system and obtain as much authority as possible."

Jarvis quickly complied, disguising itself as an ordinary hacker and initiating a fresh round of infiltration.

"Starting again?" The Red Queen mused, seemingly irritated. Had she been too lenient, allowing the intruder to gain the upper hand in this situation?

Yet, Tony's move wasn't misguided. The true control of Raccoon City's surveillance system was not in the hands of the Red Queen. Had she not been awakened, Tony's intrusion would have faced no resistance.

Sighing, the Red Queen reluctantly released the surveillance authority she had acquired, retreating into the virtual network to let Jarvis do its work.

"Alert: Traces of artificial intelligence activity detected in the surveillance system!" Jarvis's voice sounded crisp and precise.

Tony raised an eyebrow. How is that possible? He thought. A surveillance system this advanced needs AI to operate?

"How was the invasion?" Tony asked, his voice laced with curiosity.

"No resistance, highest level of authority granted," Jarvis replied.

With all relevant data compiled, Tony's mood lifted. "Interesting. Seems like this AI has some personality quirks, but it's working out in my favor."

"Jarvis, reinforce the network's defenses and search all of Raccoon City for anyone named Alice." Tony began walking down an alley, now unconcerned about being discovered.

Thanks to his access to the surveillance system, he no longer had to worry about his location being exposed.

Within mere seconds, Jarvis scanned the entire city and identified every person named Alice. It then narrowed down the possibilities based on likelihood and relevance, eventually locking onto one specific target.

A full-body image of the woman appeared on the mecha's screen.

"Alice, an employee of the Umbrella Corporation, currently in a coma at the city's general hospital…" Tony read aloud, his eyes scanning the details of Alice's profile.

Tony then brought up a route to the hospital on his mecha's interface while reviewing Alice's information as he moved. The path Jarvis plotted avoided the locations most likely to be under satellite surveillance.

"Warning! Zombies detected ahead."

A video feed popped up, showing the distribution of nearby zombies.

"Can we avoid them?" Tony asked, his tone direct. The mecha's stealth capabilities had kept him undetected for now, but he needed a safe route forward.

"Based on zombie behavioral analysis, a safe path will open in 17 minutes," Jarvis replied.

"Seventeen minutes?" Tony sighed, exasperated. "Jarvis, find the quickest route and prepare for combat."

"Recommended combat method: close combat or short-range laser cutting," Jarvis noted. "Zombies primarily track prey via sound and scent."

Tony groaned. The mecha was only equipped with a fraction of Jarvis's capabilities from his original form, which resulted in some unnecessary chatter.

If this were the full-fledged Jarvis from the Marvel universe, there'd be far less banter.

But this was a tactical decision, considering the limited space within the mecha. There simply wasn't enough room for the full range of hardware.

On his path, Tony encountered many ordinary zombies. Their attacks were of little concern. If they could penetrate his outer armor, he'd simply need to find something to crush them.

Powered by the micro-reactor, Tony advanced quickly toward his goal.

Upon reaching an intersection, he found it blocked by abandoned vehicles. As one of the earliest outbreak zones, most of the zombies had already moved on.

"Location locked: Alice is in the laboratory on the second floor..." Jarvis highlighted Alice's exact position in red on the mecha's map.
