Chapter 9 - chapter 9

On the second floor of the hospital, there was a dedicated medical laboratory owned by Umbrella Corporation. To facilitate their experiments, Alice had been moved here by Umbrella staff while still in a coma.

"Ugh..." Alice groaned, gradually awakening from her unconscious state.

The anesthetic still circulating through her bloodstream made her feel uneasy and disoriented.

The harsh overhead lights illuminated Alice, who was clad only in a bath towel, sitting up from the experimental chair.

Numerous medical tubes and needles were inserted into her body, causing a sharp, painful sensation.

"Ahhh!" Alice cried out in agony, summoning all her strength to tear the needles from her skin.

The room was stark and desolate, with only the blinding lights and a few scattered pieces of equipment occupying the otherwise empty space.

As Alice stirred, the door to the laboratory opened under the control of the Umbrella employees. Originally, they planned to move Alice for further testing, but this turn of events was far more convenient for Tony. The door opened, and he walked straight in without hesitation.

Alice, still groggy and not yet fully off the experimental chair, eyed Tony. The familiar array of medical equipment immediately reminded her of the Umbrella Corporation.

Instinctively, her eyes began scanning the room, searching for any weapons she could use.

"Alice?" Tony said, noting her attire—or lack thereof. "You're much more attractive than the pictures suggest."

Alice, unable to find any weapons, leapt off the table, uncaring of her nakedness. She swiftly closed the distance between them and delivered a swift kick aimed at Tony's side.

Tony effortlessly raised his right hand and caught Alice's leg mid-air, stopping her in her tracks.

"I've hacked the surveillance system here. If you prefer to stay unclothed, I've no issue with that," Tony remarked casually.

Alice pulled her leg back with force, stepping back as she evaluated him with suspicion. "Who are you?"

"If I were you, I wouldn't ask such a foolish question," Tony replied, raising his right hand.

Suddenly, a holographic image shot out from his arm, projected into the air.

"The city is in chaos. Zombies, rapidly spreading the infection, have claimed countless lives. I assume you're familiar with these kinds of events," Tony said, as the projection flickered with images of zombies tearing through crowds.

"Zombies! The virus finally leaked!" Alice murmured, glancing at the display as she walked toward the door. "The T-Virus... all of this is because of the T-Virus."

"So, where are you headed now?" Tony inquired, walking toward her.

"I need to find clothes... and something heavy," Alice answered, her tone blunt as she glanced at Tony.

"Got some spirit." Tony smiled. "This mission just got a lot more interesting."

With Tony's support, Alice didn't have to rush through the hospital in a panic.

As they made their way through the building, the two exchanged information. While Tony mostly listened, Alice shared crucial details.

At the entrance of the hospital, Alice—now wearing a white lab coat and carrying a medical kit—paused to look back at Tony. His high-tech gear seemed out of place, yet something about him told her he was not an Umbrella employee.

"Alice, former Umbrella employee."

"Tony Stark, mercenary," Tony introduced himself.

"A mercenary, huh?" Alice mused as she walked ahead.

A laser shot from Tony's right hand, searing through the air to slice an abandoned car in half with ease.

"Well, this can keep going until it overheats," Tony commented, eyes fixated on the smoldering wreckage.

Alice stood still for a moment, staring at the flaming car before turning to Tony. "If you're a mercenary, what's your mission?"

"Saving people and killing people," Tony replied nonchalantly.

"You're quite the hero," Alice remarked, her tone carrying a hint of sarcasm.

"Hero? I hope so." Tony's expression turned distant, as if lost in thought. "What about you? What are your plans?"

"I don't know. But first, I have to get out of here. You mentioned a nuclear bomb." Alice's voice grew strained, and a sudden headache flared, flickering memories and flashes in her mind.

As the noise from Tony's destruction attracted nearby zombies, Alice asked, "If you truly control all the surveillance, can you find Jill at the police station?"

"Jill? Why look for her?" Tony asked, engaging his jet system, now hovering beside Alice.

"She was involved in a similar virus outbreak. I saw her file at the Hive!" Alice responded, shocked to see Tony flying effortlessly.

"No problem!" Tony replied confidently.

Jarvis began running a search on Jill Valentine's whereabouts. "There's a woman named Jill at the police station, easily accessible."

"The church! They're at the church. Follow me!" Tony called as he descended from the air.

The jet thrusters were nearly depleted, making flight unsustainable. In this terrain, the Mark Armor's running efficiency was almost as effective as flight.

Alice, seizing the opportunity, jumped onto a nearby motorcycle. The keys were conveniently left in the ignition, and she revved the engine before speeding off.

Meanwhile, inside the church, Jill, Peyton, and others were fighting off three lickers.

Having already killed two, their firearms were out of ammunition, leaving them vulnerable.

As hope seemed lost, the bright lights of the motorcycle illuminated the church's glass windows.

With a crash, the motorcycle shattered the glass, just as two precise laser beams shot from behind Alice.

The lickers were split into pieces by the lasers, still writhing on the ground in a gruesome display.

"Tony! Head!" Alice shouted urgently.

Without hesitation, Tony fired another laser, this time obliterating the last licker's head with surgical precision.

Alice and Tony had become an unstoppable force, a duo that shocked Jill and the others into stunned silence.

Landing smoothly, Tony's helmet retracted to reveal his face as he looked at Jill. "Jill? I hope I'm not mistaken."

"It's me," Jill replied, eyeing Tony's fully armored form.

"Great, we've found our people. Now we need to get out of here," Tony said as he assessed the situation.

"The suit's energy is low. We won't be able to transport everyone in one trip," Tony added.

"Do you know any safe places to go?" Alice asked Jill, looking for answers.

"The bridgehead's been blocked off..." Jill replied, her voice trailing off as she tried to assess their situation.

Just as the conversation continued, Jarvis interjected with new intel.

"Someone is trying to access the surveillance system. Should we terminate the connection?"

"Where's the source?" Tony asked, his eyes scanning the screen.

"Outside Raccoon City," Jarvis replied, marking the location on the map.

"Terminate the connection..." Tony ordered, just as the notification from the Lord God Space appeared.

[Would you like to begin the side mission to find Angel?]

Tony paused for a moment, considering the task before accepting. "Jarvis, connect to the source of the signal. Limit the connection to my armor."

"Who's there?" Tony said loudly, addressing the unknown source.

Everyone in the church turned their attention to Tony, and a reporter, ever diligent, aimed their camera at him.
