The echoes of explosions faded as the last remnants of the magic steel figures turned into ash. Kai stood amidst the scorched battlefield, his chest heaving slightly from the exhilaration of so unrestrainedly unleashing the Fire Missile technique.
The blue flames blazed across the ground, casting an eerie glow across the desolate area.
Old Man Hanxian stared at the destruction, his expression a mix of disbelief and reluctant admiration. "I suppose... that concludes the demonstration." He muttered with slight dissatisfaction.
'Tch… Where did this little monster come from!? Why didn't I meet such a person when I was alive and kicking?' He clicked his tongue with annoyance.
Lilith floated beside Kai, her eyes sparkled with pure awe and admiration. "That was incredible! You just throwed those fire missiles like 'whoosh' and like 'whizz' and instantly turned them all to dust!" She gestured with her hands as she praised Kai.
Kai grinned, flexing his fingers and forming a little fire missile. "Guess I've got a knack for this."
The old man cleared his throat, regaining his composure. "Enough fooling around. The second trial, The Trial of Strength, shall now begin!!"
"Wait, wait, wait! Almost all my mana is depleted, at least let me cultivate and regain it before we begin." Kai said with slight panic. He knew he went a little… just a little overboard with the fire missiles earlier.
Old Man Hanxian sighed in defeat. 'Honestly I had hoped he would have forgotten about that." He directly threw a small cylindrical blue pill towards Kai's slightly opened mouth. Kai subconsciously swallowed it.
A burst of mana was released in his body as he started feeling even stronger than before.

'Woah… what a mythical item!!' Kai internally praised the pill.
"Since you've already proven your comprehension, let's see if your battle prowess matches your arrogance!"
Kai's grinned. "Arrogance? I prefer to call it confidence."
The old man ignored him and snapped his fingers. The scorched earth trembled, the entire ground started rising and simultaneously a gigantic coliseum started taking shape. Kai stood in the middle of the coliseum on a large platform formed by the raised ground. The air grew thick with anticipation.
"Various beasts will come in waves and directly attack you on sight." the old man declared.
He then continued. "Survive them all, and you pass. Fail, and… well, you already know the consequences."
Kai nodded, taking on a defensive stance and even bringing out his starter steel sword. "Bring it on!"
The next moment a 4-meter-long green ape materialized in front of him. He looked at Kai with bloodshot eyes and intense killing intent.

"A plant type monster? This should be easy!" Kai said as he materialised a tiny finger nailed size orb of fire.
*Whoosh*
Even before the monster could move or make a sound. A small hole in the middle of his forehead was formed, directly destroying its beat core.
The beast shrieked in pain before inevitably… dying a painful death.
"Woah, it really worked! Lilith did indeed give me some good tips!" Kai exclaimed.
Although Lilith wasn't able to do anything, she has been watching people trying to open the legacy door for many years. She has picked up on the language and traditions of the world by listening and discerning their conversations.
Usually people came in large groups, sometimes even crossing paths with other groups and occasionally even beasts fell down. Therefore, fights were inevitable and as Lilith watched on these battles, she started getting to know the weak points of a cultivator and beasts, along with many battle strategies adopted by them to raise their chances of winning.
In the platform, Kai continued defeating the beasts with a simple fire missile. Now a pack of wolflike monster materialized in the platform.

Kai materialized several dozens of fire missiles, but before he could shoot them the direwolves figure blurred! They completely disappeared from their positions.
Kai started circulating mana all around his body and some even in his sword! The previously ordinary steel sword was now completely covered in flames, the fire dazzled and flickered continuously giving off a majestic yet dangerous aura.
His body and sword were instantly strengthened and Kai's power doubled in an instant. Even his senses and awareness of his surroundings sharpened exponentially.
He swung his sword in the air and an arc of flame shot from it.
The attack made contact with a wolf instantly severing its head, the lifeless body of the beast fell down on the platform with a loud thud.
"Woah!! Killing a direwolf with a ranged attack is pretty difficult! They have very high agility and are natural experts in hiding their presence!!" Hovering over a seat in the coliseum's spectators area, Lilith evaluated.
The other wolves stopped on their tracks, seeing their companion effortlessly fall and then looking at Kai who now had a demonic smile on his face, the gaze with which Kai looked at the beasts sent a chill down their spine abd made their bodies shiver with fear and doubt. They subconsciously took a step back.
"Come!!" Kai shouted and dashed towards the fearful beasts. Swinging his sword wildly while laughing like a maniac and every now and then firing fire missiles.
The platform echoed with horrifying growls and roars of desperation. Soon there were no direwolvess left on the platform, only dozens of corpses and splattered blood was present!!!
