Chapter 10 - Revenge!

*Cough!*

'What… What is going on here?' The psychopath illusionist who had been toying with both Levin and Mira for the last fifteen minutes didn't know what happened. One moment he was trying to land the decisive blow to the soldier, and now here he was, on his knees while feeling pain all over his body. The thick liquid that flowed from his stomach made him wince unconsciously. He didn't need to take a look at it to know what that was, having been familiar with the liquid in his life. He just didn't expect someone would manage to expose his hiding position and spill his blood even when he was completely in control. "What… Did you do?" He asked weakly.

Levin just looked at him indifferently, the gaze that reminded the illusionist of someone he hated so much in his old world. "Well… Would you like to know?" Hell, Levin even spoke in the same way as the man did, slow and annoying. If the illusionist could move his body, he would jump onto the soldier and strangle him directly to death without any hesitation.

"Just… Tell… Me…" The illusionist gritted his teeth, trying to maintain his consciousness.

Even though he was a psychopath who spilled a lot of blood for fun, this was probably the first time he received the end of it, and even though he was amazed by the power of the laser gun that he tried to imitate in the last fifteen minutes, the real one was far more terrifying than the imitation, and it hurt like hell too.

This was also his first time getting hurt so badly like this, and honestly, he started to panic.

"Oh, so, no one has ever figured out your little trick in your old world, huh?" Levin snorted amusedly. "It seems the level of your world is far worse than I thought it would be."

When he heard that, a memory about his old rival who he killed before he also died in the decisive blow in his last moment suddenly surged in his head, and he scowled angrily at that. "Shut up!" he scowled, gritting his teeth. "You… You don't have the right to look down on him! Only I can do that!"

"Oh?" The amusement in Levin's tone was clear as day. "So, just because you feel like he was the first one who could match your strength in your old world, you think that you are the only one who can look down on him? Don't you remember that this is a multiversal fight? Don't you think that there would be someone stronger than you in the vast multiverse outside of your world?"

Even though Levin didn't know who the 'he' that the illusionist was talking about, he could guess that the illusionist was talking about the enemy he had to face in his old world.

"S-Shut up! Just kill me already!" The illusionist scowled helplessly, knowing that his fate was in the hands of the soldier in front of him. Even now, he could feel his sight was hazy and his consciousness started to escape from the living plane.

However, it seemed that Levin disagreed with his request. "Kill you already? After what you did to me and Mira, do you really think that you deserve such a quick death?" He snorted, starting to turn on his laser gun once again. It glowed so brightly in the middle of the night, lighting up the entire forest instantly. "I still don't know how you can imitate this good boy in your illusion, but the power is far worse than what I know. Let me show you how terrifying this good boy is when it pierces your body."

BAM!

"AAARGH!" The illusionist screamed in pain as he felt the laser piercing the same spot where he was hit just a moment ago.

"Oops. Why would I aim at that spot? You can die from the excessive blood loss, which would end the game too quickly. How clumsy of me." Levin's tone was nonchalant, sending shivers down the illusionist's spine. Usually, it would be him who was in the higher position and tortured his enemy, so he was not used to receiving the end of it. "As expected, torture and interrogation is not my forte." Levin hummed, charging his laser gun once again for another shoot.

Right after that, in the next few minutes, the illusionist received the end of the torture that he did to Mira. Shoulder, torsos, kidney, abdomen, ears, eyes, and all of his non-vital spot was shot, and he couldn't even scream anymore, feeling that his body was too numb from the excessive pain delivered by Levin. His body was full of holes, and if anyone else saw this, they would probably vomit on the spot.

As for Levin himself, there was no hint of pity or any other feeling in his eyes, just indifference as if this was just another daily routine for him. Even though he was not a cruel person by nature, he was a soldier for about 20 years, and the number of spies from other countries and even from the alien forces that he captured and interrogated himself personally was too much. He didn't like it, but he would never shy away from this kind of torture and interrogation to make his enemy desperate, and this time, The psychopath illusionist in front of him really touched his bottom line, forcing him to go with this method.

"Only nine spots, huh?" He mused. "Usually, I can get more than 16 spots to shoot without letting my enemy die. It seems my time with aliens really makes me sloppy."

The illusionist, who was on the ground, was already in front of the death door, and one gentle push would finally let him out of his misery. However, it seemed the illusionist was still unwilling to leave the living plane so easily, not before at least knowing how Levin found him out.

"H—How…" He asked weakly.

"Oh, so, you are still curious about how I found your whereabouts, huh?" Even though Levin didn't hear the full question, he could still figure out what the illusionist wanted to ask. "Well, just treat it as your last present in this world." He hummed lowly. "Truth to be told, it is just a rough guess, and I don't know how and where you usually operate in your old world, but here, in the forest, everything is so quiet and peaceful that it is easy to point out an anomaly that happened in the surrounding."

With the last strength he had in his body, the illusionist turned his head, staring at Levin questioningly.

"Oh, so, you are curious about what kind of anomaly that exposed you, huh? It is easy. The answer is wind." Seeing the incredulous gaze he received from the illusionist, Levin continued, "Yeah, I don't know if you notice this or not, but whenever you are going to put your illusion on me, it will always cause the wind to breeze gently from your direction. It is so subtle that I doubt the human body will notice that. However, we are in the middle of a peaceful forest where there is no sound in probably a mile radius, so when it swept the rusty leaves on the ground, it is easy for me to notice it."

The illusionist had his jaws dropped, staring at him incredulously. "But… That… How…" He was too speechless to express his thoughts.

"Oh, I tell you, it is not as easy as I said." Levin snorted. "I have to let you use me as your plaything while holding back the pain all over my body so that I can pinpoint your position. Not an easy task to do when my biggest nightmare multiplied three times in front of me. However, while I may look like an ordinary soldier, my hearing and smelling sense are far from normal. As long as the target is in a radius of one mile or so, I can pinpoint their position easily the moment they reveal it. So, you are just unlucky that you face me and reveal your weakness."

"So, that's it… Unlucky, huh?" The illusionist murmured weakly, his consciousness started leaving his body. "Hahaha! I didn't expect that I would meet someone who could fight against my illusion like this! You really deserve to be here, Soldier! I lose! Now, you can just kill me and – "

BAM!

Before he could even finish his monologue, Levin shot the illusionist one last time straight to his heart. When he saw the lifeless corpse in front of him, Levin couldn't help but mutter, "For someone who is about to die, he sure talks a lot." Then, without even turning around, he raised his voice once again. "Now that the show is over, can you finally come out of your hiding spot, Mister Spy?"
