But Blonsky wouldn't be deterred.
The procedure transformed him into a Hulk-like monster,
his body contorting and twisting as he grew in strength and power.
As Abomination, Blonsky knocked Sterns into a sample of Banner's blood and went on a rampage through Harlem,
Seeking something that could challenge his newfound strength and lure the Hulk out.

Despite his fears that he had cured himself of the Hulk permanently,
Banner was given permission to fight Blonsky and jumped from General Ross' helicopter in an attempt to re-trigger his transformations.
The impact was immense as Banner emerged from a crater in the street below as the Hulk, his massive green body towering over the city.
The battle between the Hulk and Abomination was fierce and intense, with both combatants trading blows and causing destruction throughout the city.
The Hulk spotted a chain lying on the ground and grabbed it, wrapping it around Abomination's neck.
"YOU'RE NOT THE STRONGEST,"
the Hulk growled, his voice low and menacing.

but the Hulk's strength was too much. Abomination's face turned red, and he let out a defeated roar as the Hulk pulled him to the ground.
The Hulk stood over Abomination,
victorious, as the city lay in ruins around them.
