Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Not Like Them

-'Jude.. Honey.. Are you ever going out with your friends from school? It's quite disheartening seeing you cooped up at home all the time."

A young Jude shrugged at his Mother, who gave an exasperated sigh, however her kind smile still stayed apparent.

She ruffled his hair slightly, her soft delicate hands moving slow against his scalp, as she spoke up in a concerned tone.

-'Baby dear... You need to get some activity done.. I'm saying this for you, promise your Mother that you'll atleast try.'

Jude was never emotionally moved by anyone's words, except his Mother's. Such was the strength of a familial bond, it went beyond any type of existence.

In response to her words, Jude stared at his hands, and held her hand still atop his head. That alone spoke volumes to her.

-"I'll try."

Words spoken with a light smile.

His Mother hugged him softly, murmuring into his head the warmest words of praise and adoration.

-'My dear.. You have no idea how much I am glad to hear you say that.. You're such a polite, sweet boy.'

She kissed the top of his head, letting him run along as he went to his room to continue his studies.

His Mother knew. He was not like the others. He was like his Father. He was not.. a normal child.

Location: Jude's Bedroom/Time: 7:00 AM

Despite graduating from school, Jude still slept early and woke up early. He knew the value of a good sleep was better than any late night entertainment session.

Repeating his routine from yesterday, Jude stands up, tidies his bed, opens the lights and turns around to do the same to the other rooms.

But, under his door he saw.. Lights? Impossible, Jude never forgets his nightly routine, if he did, he's going to tear himself a new one.

Internally facepalming at such a simple mistake, he opens the door to see-

-"Mogojyan! Mogojyan! Look! He's awake!"

The same girls.. From yesterday.. lounging on his couch watching TV.

Rather, one was, Fuwawa, whole "Mogojyan" was asleep leaning her head on her sister's shoulder.

-"Fwweeeehh... Fuwaw-"

Second time poor "Mogojyan" gets interrupted by Jude.

-"Sweet Jesus Christ son of Mary. Why are you two here? You said you'd be back. But to break into my house? Tsk, leave, immediately."

His usage of the Lord's name was more of exasperation than surprise, his finger pointing to the door of his apartment, he was commanding them, not requesting them.

Buuut.. These two girls were weird. They wouldn't quiet down, murmuring something in another language, the same one he heard from them yesterday.

"Mogojyan", the now twice interrupted sister, nodded as her sister finished speaking into her ears, stood up, and looked slightly down at Jude, the difference in their size barely noticeable.

She spoke, her tone indiscernible, it's like if she was mad or happy you couldn't tell because they always sound excited, like dogs.

-"Noehh! We're not leaving! You have to answer a few questions first! Then.. we'll.. we'll.. uhm.."

Her sister continued her sentence for her, they really did seem like they shared one brain.

-"We'll decide whether you're coming with us or not! Sit down! Bau! Bau!"

-"Bau.. Bau..?"

-"Bau Bau Bau Bau! Bau!"

The two sisters chanted as if conjuring up a spell.

Jude, focused on the latter part of their speech and not the fact they told him to sit down for questioning, lost himself in thought trying to translate the meaning of the incantation "Bau".

That's when the twins leapt at him, their weight surprising him as they took each side and pinned him to the couch. No malice was in their eyes, but, the sheer energy they held seemed to emanate such an aura it almost made Jude want to join their ecstatic mannerisms.

However, he shook his head and gained his attention back.

That's when he remembered, his bandana. They saw his eyes without his bandana. Where is it? Where's the bandana..

Jude's heart, something that hasn't pounded quickly in a decade, began leaping in his throat. His only insecurity beaming, breaths coming quickly in a near hyperventilating fashion.

The twins thought he was scared of them and looked at each other, still holding him as they stepped back slightly.

They had unknowingly let themselves off guard.

-"My.. Patch.. Where is.. Where is it?!"

He seemed to enter a manic state, his right eye glowing slightly, a grey color, a hollow color.

Jude pushed the two off him with a sudden show of force belying his stature, and rushed to where he stashes his bandana, quickly opening the drawer..

Empty. Nothing.

The twin girls rushed after him, not pushing him down, but genuinely concerned at his panicked state.

That's when he noticed his bandana tied around the red eyed sister, her gem adornment above it.

He walked to her, his steps holding immense restraint, as they watched him get closer.

They hugged each other a little bit.

-"Fuwawaaaa!! He's going to-"

As Jude stepped up to them,

He ripped the bandana from her neck..

-"NOEEHHHHH-"

..earning a startle from both of them, thinking he was going to hit them, but as they opened their eyes again, he was totally calm. As if nothing happened.

-"Noeh..?"

They looked at each other confused, making sure the other is alright as they turned their heads to each other, then back at Jude, however they kept side eyeing each other, checking for any wounds, any marks of hitting.

A throat clear like the one they heard yesterday seemed to clear up the situation. He had simply, and somehow instantly, snatched his bandana back, without causing harm to "Mogojyan".

His voice was back to calm as he spoke, as if his voice box had a system restart.

-"....You've made your point. Let's get to talking."

He walked to the living room, the sisters exchanging one more glance before separating from each other and walking behind him. They didn't understand what just happened.

"Sit, there."

He pointed to the couch opposite of him, the living room was aligned in a way that could house quite a lot of people, a double couch for two below a window, a really large couch facing the TV that could fit atleast four, and a small couch opposite to the double one.

The furniture all had the same vibrant green color, not exactly fitting with Jude's personality.

As the two sat, he went to the kitchen, coming back with two cups of milk for the two. He was still treating them like children, but they didn't mind, infact it almost seemed as if stars appeared in their eyes.

-"Soy milk?! Bau Bau!!"

The two sisters said simultaneously, as they drank up, their disappointment was immeasurable, and their day was ruined.

It wasn't soy. It was just plain old milk.

"Blergh.. not soy.."

Moving that out of the way, they looked back at Jude, who was holding chin above his clasped hands, his elbows on his knees, looking at them as they drank.

They forgot for a moment what they were going to do.

-"So? Are you not going to ask your questions?"

He should've thrown them out, he should've called the police. But something.. something tugged at him not to. To listen to them. He didn't know what it was. Their innocence? Their sudden appearance without any noise?

The currently sitting trespassers laughed, laughed quite loudly in fact. It was so infectious, so fitting for their selves.

-"Right! Fuwawa! We were going to ask him questions about yesterday!

-"Oooh! You're right Mogojyan! We were going to ask him about yesterday!!"

They turned their attention back to him, now speaking in turns.

-"Are you not human? Because, no one can see us if they're human whilst we're invisible."

Jude was taken aback by the question, he's human alright. He might be different, but he's human.

He didn't see what they saw whilst he was in that panicked state.

Also what was that for a question? They're talking as if they weren't human. These children must be really really engrossed in their roleplays.

-"No? I am a human. And you aren't?"

He should've seen the signs. He should've felt them, literally. They aren't normal. They aren't just.. children.

A small blinding light took the room for a second, Jude, normally unflinching, had to close his visible left eye at the scene.

There they were, the same girls but.. with.. doglike features..?!

"What.. what is this? Is this what you call faithful roleplaying?"

The now twin dog-girls laughed once more.

-"Wahahah! Mogojyan! Mogojyan! He's not human afterall-"

-"I am fully human thank you very much. Just because I can pass for that term, dwarf, doesn't mean I'm not human."

He still didn't get it.

Their tails were wagging too realistically. Their ears were twitching aswell.

Jude stared at them, looking almost baffled.

"You're.. not just any children, aren't you..?"

The two dog-girls stared harshly with pouting expressions, loudly declaring the following:

-"We're not children!!!"

For once Jude covered his ears, they were too loud for their own good.

-"Okay.. I might've mistook that there."

..As a little time passed..

They continued discussing every detail about themselves, which, one might think is a really really horrible idea, however it's not like Jude would ever put that to use, right?

Recollecting the information he had learned, Jude takes a deep breath.

-"So, you mean to tell me, you're thousands of years old. And you have many friends like yourselves."

Their energetic nodding made him lean back in his chair.

"And it's not at all normal for humans to see ones such as yourself if they're using their covers."

Once more, energetic nodding.

"God."

Was all that left his lips.

Fuwawa and "Mogojyan" stood up, putting their right hand and left hand respectively over their chests, about to speak together.

-"Let's introduce ourselves again!"

Fuwawa spoke first.

-"I am Fuwawa! Fuwawa Abyssguard! The Fluffy One!"

She spoke with pride, puffing up her chest as she spoke.

"Mogojyan", who, when she spoke, cleared up the main doubt Jude had about her:

-"I am Mococo! Mococo Abyssguard!

The Fuzzy One!"

Jude had an internal thought, though he kept it to himself. He almost called her Mogojyan on so many occasions, thankfully now he knows her actual name.

She mimicked her sister's action, also puffing up her chest and beaming with pride as she spoke.

They held that position for a few seconds, an awkward silence filling the room.

-"Noehh!!! You ruined it! You're supposed to do what we did and say your identity!"

Jude gave them a ._. stare, implying he wouldn't.

-"No."

That simple "No" caused the two to pout again, but, they moved on.
