The curse that flew out of Ess' mouth right then was genuine. He let go of Jack and Fang at once.
BANG!
The sound of the impact only came after he, the little mutant, Jack, and Fang were smashed into not by a bullet, but by huge chunks of flesh and guts that came off and out of the Great Earthen Parasite. The four were blown away at breakneck speed, but Ess managed to stabilize himself and pull the little mutant under him before he flew too far.
ROAAAAAAAAR!
The Great Earthen Parasite roared. It cocked up a desert storm with just its hoarse voice, singing a crooked song of harrowing agony. Its massive body wriggled and roiled as quickly and as flexibly as a giant, lithe string. Hurricanes swept through everything… and then the creature crashed into the ground.
