Ava's POV
We, on the right side, saw the Escalante soldiers' actions. Their admiration and dedication to their general as well as soldiers are something that surprises me. "Alright, stand up. Let's march on their graves," Big Sister Kassandra says.
They stood up and turned their back. We also did the same thing and moved forward when they did. We didn't break our lines as well.
After twenty minutes of walking, we reach the graves of a thousand soldiers as well as the family grave of the Escalante's.
For some reason, my tears fall on my cheeks. I got startled when someone held my hand. I turn on my left and realize it was Collin.
"It's okay. You don't have to hold back your tears, hon," he whispers. He was still facing forward.
"I can't believe that war had cost lives. I'm sure their siblings, spouses, children, friends, and families were still grieving for their deaths," I whispered.
