CHAPTER 8 – Love advice
Day 18 as an inmate
I had a strange dream today it was about me killing a man it was pretty blurry, so I don't remember much
Kenji came to me I expected him to be sad and depressed after I made him remember that, but his face was so red like a maiden in love
Not like I have ever seen a maiden in love, but this is what I imagine it to be like I think but I have never seen a guard who is literally
In front of a criminal who has done God knows how many crimes have such a carefree look on his face
Come to think of it I never realized but Kenji looks handsome girls could fall for him easily guys like him must get a lot of proposals from girls
He has black hair brown eyes he must be over 6 feet tall he has a good jawline so I think he could get a lot of girls in any case since my dear friend is in love like a good friend should
I should first ask him about this and then give him advice despite not having any kind of relationship with a girl like a good friend should
So, I asked him "Kenji your face is bright red you look like a maiden who has fallen in love with her knight in shining armor"
"But let me remind you my friend you are NOT a pure hearted maiden who met her knight in shining armor"
"Neither are you a knight who met his maidens you are a guard of my cell and that's not the same as being a knight not even near the level of a knight or a prince"
Kenji seemed to be lost in thought but finally after me calling him out so many times he responded still with that bright red face of a maiden
"Shikaku uh do you know uh Isadora uh the sister of uh the king the girl who handles all the strategic affairs and all she looks so beautiful and she's so cute and clumsy at times"
"Kenji you sound like a stalker man how do you know she's clumsy at times?"
He seemed more than happy to talk about her than he was at any of the stories he told me he truly was in-love I could tell that much from these signs
"So, we met at the local market I was out to buy stuff like vegetables and rations basically so then I saw a girl it was truly love at first sight I don't think"
"I have ever experienced something like that so I just know this is love and about the knight stuff you said who told you I can't become one?"
I was taken back by that statement but then I remembered he said he was offered a soldier's position and higher positions, but he rejected them
Because he did not want to take another life in any case I replied to him with what came to mind
"But what about the stuff you said about not taking a life that poetic stuff what happened to that are you letting a girl although she is no normal girl"
"She is the little sister of our king it might make sense for you to fall in love with her"
He replied with a smug look on his face
"Well, everything's fair in love and war they say so yeah, I'm ready to kill her enemies any enemy she has is my enemy too and sorry shikaku I'm going to start trying for general now"
"If I remember correctly the quickest way to become the general is to defeat the current one and for now there's a general"
"And generals get selected once every five years and hell I am NOT going to wait for five whole years"
"So first I will start rising through ranks by training my body to its utmost limit hell not the limits PAST it's limits yes I will rise quickly like a phoenix!!"
One thing came to my mind the obvious thing was
"Kenji what if she doesn't like you"
Kenji stared at me blankly after I said that then he finally after 2 minutes of straight silence replied to me
"Uh about that Shikaku do you have any kind of history with a sister of a king?"
What the actual fuck was he expecting asking me that I have never even held hands with a woman
"No obviously never"
"Well at least you can give me advice, right"
Kenji looked a little disappointed I don't know what he expected from a guy rotting in jail in any case despite not having any kind of romantic experience
"Yes, I will give you advice 2 heads are better than 1 they say"
"Yeahh.. first of all, how do I make her realize I exist I don't think she knows I exist, and I don't think I have told you that when I saw her in the market"
"She was using disguise magic I think this was because she wanted to see the area as a commoner and you know understand them and their struggles"
"And all that just to improve the area's and I could see through her disguise because I have a strange ability that nullifies magical properties and see through disguises based on magical properties"
"It also nullifies healing magic so it's more of a curse than a blessing but still after seeing through her disguise I could recognize her because in the past"
"When I just arrived in this kingdom by the other kingdoms support the royal family greeted me and I just happened to see her I was near 14 or 15 at that time I think"
"She was beautiful at that time too and when I saw her yesterday, I knew it was her it HAD to be her"
"This time I knew it was love at first sight-"
I cut him off with a question
"Wont it be love at second sight since you had met her before? Why are you lying?"
He stared at me blankly
"..."
After a while of staring, he replied
"You just HAD to ruin it huh?"
