AMAYA'S POV
"Are you trying to trigger me?"
His question echoed in the office, bouncing off my beating heart and spreading through my mind. There was no obvious hint of emotion in his question even if the question seemed obvious. His tone was empty, making it hard for me to tell if he was trying to get a rise out of me.
I tensed up in my seat when he rose up from his chair and slowly walked out and away from the desk. He kept his gaze on me as he slowly walked toward me. I wanted to sit up and move to another direction, but I wanted to stand my ground. For once, I wanted to prove to him that I would not cower under whatever authority he was under. Just because I was in his territory did not mean I was going to appear weak.
Maxim stopped before me with the tip of his shoes brushing mine. I swallowed and raised my head then met his eyes. A smirk slowly formed on his lips while his eyes moved up and down my body, slowly taking in every part of my body his eyes caught.
