I was welcomed by the scent of fresh roses the moment I stepped into my office. I halted at the doorway, blinking in astonishment at the surprising sight on my desk. A large bouquet of dark red and white roses set in the middle was covered with a beautiful gold paper.
I frowned, shutting the door behind me and walking over to where they had seemingly materialized out of thin air, I set down my bag, and picked the flower up. It was as beautiful as it smelled. Tucked into the fold was a small card.
A little suspicious, I picked up the card and My name was written in neat cursive on the front. I opened it and read:
Congratulations on the success with Handerson. More wins to come. Daniel.
I breathed a soft sigh. Even though the deal wasn't sealed yet, we had impressed him enough that Handerson wouldn't have second thoughts about backing out. It was a win. For now at least.
