Once Dinner was over, I went to help Mily massage her leg and I told her about the events of my day while at it. We laughed a great deal, joking for hours until the clock hit 10 and it was time for me to sleep.
"It was really nice sharing a late night talk with you, just like old times."
"Yeah. I was but I have to go now" I gradually stood up. "Good night sis."
"Good night Lily." She answered as I locked the door.

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. Maybe because Mom was in the house, tending to Mily's needs.
I bathed, got dressed and headed downstairs. Mom was already in the kitchen, gliding with ease as she cooked pancakes and hummed an old tune under her breath.
"Morning, sweetheart," she greeted me with a smile. "I was just getting ready to call you."
I leaned against the counter. "You didn't have to cook, Mom. You're supposed to be here to help Mily, not take over her house."
