With dawn came a pleasant breeze that only blowed in the heart of such a forest and when Lydia awoke she found that the beast was nowhere in the house.
She thought he must have gone hunting again and set out to do her usual morning chores. By the time she was done with all the cleaning he returned just before she set to make breakfast.
He wasn't covered in blood, neither did he seem like he had gone hunting. She didn't ask where he had been or what he had been doing, she just concluded in her head that maybe he just went for a morning stroll.
Since it didn't seem like he had eaten anything that morning, she made breakfast for two.
It was a simple breakfast of boiled corn and freshly squeezed wine of wild berries.
He asked if she would be checking on the buried candles and she told him the candles were not to be disturbed until the third day for the ritual to be possible.
