Haider's eyes were full of guilt. He patted Avril's back gently to comfort her silently.
It was his fault. He shouldn't have provoked Avril using Angie. As for Angie...A hint of anger flashed in Haider's eyes. He would spare Angie's life only if she behaved herself. Or else...
After venting the grievances in her heart, Avril raised her head from Haider's arms and said in a hoarse voice, "Thank you for speaking up for me just now."
Haider lovingly wiped away her tears and looked at her red and swollen eyes.
"I'm your husband. You don't need to thank me. This is what I should do." Haider said tenderly.
Avril was touched and continued walking forward.
"Don't you want to know if what Angie said is true or not?" Haider strode to catch up with her and said.
"I trust you. I don't care if it is true or not. What I care about is you."Avril felt touched once again by Haider's word. No one had ever said something like that to her.
