Chapter 47: The Price of Protection
Micha dusted off his jacket, muttering about how bloodstains were a pain to get out of black fabric, even though they technically didn't show much.
He stretched his arms above his head before cracking his neck, looking completely at peace despite the absolute mess of a night they'd all had.
Raphael, on the other hand, was still holding his fists as if it might somehow make the situation make more sense.
It didn't.
"So," Micha said, rocking back on his heels. "You gonna thank me or what?"
Raphael narrowed his eyes. "For what exactly? The attempted murder, or the awkward reunion?"
"Both," Micha answered with a lazy grin. "I make things interesting."
"You make things complicated," Raphael replied back.
"Semantics." Micha waved a hand dismissively before his facial expression turned serious.
