"You're wasting my time, Clara. I think something happened to Jenna," Blake said, sitting across from me in his café—in his office, to be precise. He had come home from a business meeting in Japan just because I told him I had something important to talk about Jenna.
He loved Jenna so much that I couldn't compete with her. Even though he knew Jenna had betrayed him, he didn't let her go. It was obvious that whatever I did would be in vain.
"I want to talk about something important, Blake."
"What's important? The same thing you did a dozen years ago, and then what? You ruined my relationship with Jenna. Are you going to do the same thing now?"
"She betrayed you, Blake. Why did you stay silent? Why let her do that? Don't you have any self-respect? I can even give you my loyalty, but why didn't you choose me?" My eyes started to heat up, and I did my best to keep the tears from falling, especially in front of a man who would never see me as someone worth choosing.
