Silver's POV
A strange emptiness gnawed at me, a sinking realization that everything I had done... all of it... might have been meaningless.
At first, my only goal was to surpass Deux.
I wanted to be like him.
An Alpha prince destined to become the Alpha King.
Jealousy consumed me, but in the end, I was nothing more than his shadow.
Deux's family was the main family. Ours? We were outsiders. Not as important. Not as powerful. Not as worthy.
Their blood was superior, unquestionable in its dominance.
My father was born from an ordinary Omega, while the Alpha King—Deux's father—came from an Omega of the highest quality. That was the difference between us. That was the gap I had spent my entire life trying to close.
I hated Deux because he had everything.
And I... I had nothing.
That's why I was willing to do anything to rise above him. I didn't care who I stepped on along the way because none of them understood the humiliation, the pain, the endless struggle I endured.
While Deux's family basked in their power, my father and I were left to scavenge for scraps.
So I made a vow.
I would bring my father to the top. I would change our fate. And no matter what it took... I would surpass Deux.
Then, I met him.
Champ.
The one Deux seemed to cherish above all else.
And I saw my chance.
If I took Champ for myself, if I made him mine, it would destroy Deux in a way nothing else could.
So I did everything in my power to take him. I fought, I schemed, I played my game without hesitation.
But now, I stood here, shaken by a truth that shattered the very foundation of my desires.
Champ was my brother.
Born from the same Omega mother.
My mind spiraled, a storm of contradictions raging inside me.
What was I supposed to do now?
I felt lost, as if I stood at a crossroads with no idea which path to take. One led forward, the other backward... but which one was right? Which one would lead me to something—to anything—that made sense?
I had no answer.
...
I found myself at the Alpha King's estate, a place I often visited—not to see Deux, but to provoke him, to make sure he never forgot I was here, waiting in the shadows.
But today was different.
I had been so lost in thought that I nearly forgot.
Deux wasn't here.
He had vanished—disappeared without a trace, and Champ was missing alongside him.
A part of me wanted to leave. There was no reason to linger.
I had no interest in speaking with the Alpha King. The mere thought of him made my blood boil. He despised me, saw me as lesser because of my father's bloodline.
And I? I hated him in return.
One day, I would make him choke on his arrogance. One day, I would make him pay for looking down on me and my father.
But not today.
Tonight, I walked away from the estate, my thoughts heavy, my focus sharp.
That's when I saw it.
A drone.
Hovering above the estate, moving as if watching, waiting.
It was subtle, nearly invisible in the night sky, but under the glow of the moon, my eyes caught it.
Someone was watching the Alpha King's home.
Someone was planning something.
And I needed to find out who.
...
...
...
Jiggs' POV
We crouched low in the shadows, hidden among the thick, overgrown foliage near the Alpha King's estate. It was me and four Beta males—Marsh, Gem, Daryl, and Martin—waiting, watching, holding our breath as I carried out our surveillance.
This spot was perfect—dense enough with plants to keep us concealed while I controlled my drone, scanning the area for any movement.
"Alright! No one's outside Deux's house!" I announced, staring intently at my phone screen as the live feed from my drone displayed the empty exterior of the estate.
"Jiggs, you're a genius!" Daryl whispered in admiration.
"Ha! Of course, I am!" I grinned, tilting my head up in pride—only for my confidence to shatter a second later. My eyes widened. "Wait! Damn it! Someone spotted my drone!"
"Who?! Let me see!" Marsh shoved closer, and the others crowded around my screen, their breaths held in anticipation.
"It's Silver!" Gem hissed.
A tense silence fell over us.
"Why is he here? And how did he even notice your drone?" Martin questioned, his brows furrowing. "It's nighttime. That thing shouldn't be visible."
"Ugh!" I groaned in frustration and glanced up at the culprit. "It must be the moon! The drone passed right in front of it—Silver must've caught sight of it because of the angle! His line of sight is probably around 63 degrees, considering the height difference and the—"
"Stop, Jiggs!" Marsh cut me off. "You'll give us a headache. The moon is the problem, got it."
"Tsk! This is bad," I muttered, gritting my teeth. "Of all people, he had to be the one to notice it!"
I shifted my focus back to the screen, tracking Silver's movements. He had started walking away from the doorway.
"Where's he going?" Martin asked.
"Doesn't matter. He won't find us," I said, though I wasn't entirely convinced myself. "What we do need is a way inside the garage Deux mentioned. He gave me the location, but we have to get in without being seen."
I guided the drone toward the back entrance Deux had described, scanning the area carefully. That's when I spotted it—an open section near the trash bins.
I stared at the screen, blinking in disbelief.
"... Are you kidding me?" I grumbled. "Deux is telling us to go in through the garbage area?! Does he think we're trash or something? Well, if it's the only way, we don't really have a choice, do we?" I muttered, trying to swallow my pride.
Then—rustling.
I froze.
A voice rang out, chilling yet smooth, sending shivers down my spine.
"I know someone's watching," Silver called out. "Come on now... no need to be shy. I don't bite."
That was a lie. A big lie.
My heart nearly stopped.
"Shh!" I whispered sharply, and all five of us immediately clamped our hands over each other's mouths, our eyes wide in sheer terror.
We didn't move. We didn't breathe.
Silver was right there, circling like a predator hunting his prey. And we? We were the prey.
If he found us... he wouldn't just catch us. He'd devour us whole—bones and all.
A slow chuckle left his lips.
"Ha. You really think you can hide from me? I'll find you... You want to play hide-and-seek, huh?" he murmured, his voice eerily calm.
His footsteps echoed in the silence.
Then... he walked away.
For a moment, we remained still, too terrified to believe it.
And then—exhale.
"HOLY—" I gasped, slumping forward, feeling my soul nearly leave my body. "I thought we were dead!"
"Me too," Daryl whispered, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"Why does Silver always show up whenever we have a mission?!" I groaned, shaking my head. "He keeps messing up my perfectly calculated plans!"
I sighed, pulling up the numbers in my head. "Alright. Our success rate is now 60% of escaping here. If we don't get out of here fast, there's a 40% chance Silver will find us."
"Then let's move," Gem said. "We need to sneak in before he comes back."
I quickly recalled my drone, making sure it returned without anyone spotting it this time.
Because if Silver caught even the slightest movement... we were done for.
It felt like we were trapped in a horror game—where if we didn't hide from him, it would be game over!
...
Success! We had finally made it to the back of the estate—only to be greeted by the most disgusting stench imaginable. The trash had been sitting here for who knows how long, a putrid cocktail of rotten food, decay, and suffering.
"Deux really doesn't give a damn about us! He actually wants us to suffer!" I complained, covering my nose.
"No choice, Jiggs! Just move!" Martin whispered, pushing me forward.
Holding our breath, we silently slipped through a door that led us into the estate.
Inside, we found ourselves in a dimly lit storage room filled with abandoned, broken furniture. The musty scent of old wood and dust was thick in the air, making me want to gag all over again.
Shattered mirrors, rusted gym equipment, splintered chairs—this place looked like the graveyard of Alpha King and Deux's unwanted junk.
As the others searched for an exit, I wandered toward a large, aged bookshelf that stood surprisingly intact amid the wreckage.
Unlike everything else in the room, the books here were neatly arranged. That alone made me suspicious.
"Alpha's Greatness, Alpha's Kingdom, blah blah blah... it's all about Alphas." I muttered, rolling my eyes as I scanned the titles.
Then, something caught my attention—a small cabinet built into the side of the bookshelf.
Weird.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I pulled it open—only to be immediately assaulted by a thick cloud of dust.
I coughed violently, waving my hands to clear the air.
Some of the dust had gotten into my mouth. I ate the dust. I tasted history. And let me tell you—it was not pleasant.
Once I managed to recover from my near-death experience, I finally took a look inside the cabinet.
It held books.
But these weren't like the others.
They were ancient. Their covers were faded, their pages yellowed with time. Some of the letters were barely legible, but one title stood out clearly enough.
"History of Aurivelle."
My breath hitched. Aurivelle—the name of our world.
But this wasn't new information to me. I already knew the history of Aurivelle.
I had read all the volumes. Volumes 1 through 10. I had every single one back home.
"Wait a minute... which volume is this?" I muttered, frowning. "Could this be a limited edition?"
Carefully, I blew off the dust, instantly regretting it as another wave of filth assaulted my senses. Why do I keep doing this to myself?!
But something was off.
This book had no volume number.
My heart pounded as I flipped it open, expecting to see familiar records of history.
Instead—
"Omega males—the first rulers of Aurivelle. The city of Veydith, the original seat of the first Omega male ruler..."
My eyes nearly popped out of my skull.
"Oh, shit!" I gasped. "This is rarer than a limited edition!"
This one is a mythical edition of the history of our world!
The REAL and hidden history!
I trembled as I held the book, feeling like I had just stumbled upon a forbidden treasure.
"Jiggs! We found the exit!" Gem called out.
"Okay! Coming!" I said, snapping back to reality.
Quickly, I wrapped the book in a cloth from my bag, making sure it wouldn't get damaged.
I'll read you later, I promise. And when I do—I'm devouring you in one sitting!
...
Now, standing in front of the exit, I pulled out my phone and read Deux's instructions.
"According to this, once we step out of this room, we'll be in a hallway where Beta maids are constantly cleaning and organizing," I informed the group.
"Then how do we get past them?" Gem asked.
"If even one of them spots us, they'll alert security," Daryl added grimly.
"Why don't we just fight them?" Martin suggested.
"That'll definitely attract attention," Marsh shot back.
"Hold on." I pressed my eye against a tiny hole in the door, peeking outside.
"What do you see, Jiggs?" Daryl asked.
"Hmm... Straight ahead, the hallway splits into two—one path to the left, one to the right. There's a Beta maid in the middle, cleaning with a vacuum right now," I reported.
"Should we wait until she finishes?" Daryl whispered.
"Shh! Hold on!" My heart skipped a beat. "She just stopped moving! She looked this way! Like she heard something!"
"What do we do?!" Gem panicked.
"She's walking now! Slowly... like she's nervous!" I whispered sharply.
"Do we knock her out and tie her up?" Martin asked.
I grinned.
"Hmm... I have a better idea."
Leaning in, I whispered my best getaway escape plan to them.
...
"Are you sure this is gonna work?" Gem asked, skeptical.
"99% sure!" I declared confidently.
"And the other 1%?" Daryl asked.
"That's the Silver factor." I sighed. "Now that he's here looking for us, I have to add him into the probability of failure."
I clapped my hands together. "Anyway—places, everyone! It's showtime!"
...
We moved swiftly, crouching behind large crates and broken furniture, staying close to the door but keeping out of sight.
A few tense moments passed before the door creaked open.
A Beta maid stepped inside, gripping a broom tightly in her trembling hands, her wide eyes scanning the dimly lit room.
"Is... is someone here?" she stammered, holding the broom as if it were a weapon.
She took a cautious step forward—past the doorway.
Perfect.
Plan commence!
I cleared my throat.
And then—
"Ehehehehee!" I let out a twisted, eerie laugh, the kind you'd hear in a horror movie before the protagonist meets a gruesome fate.
The Beta maid froze, her grip tightening around her broom.
"W-Who's there?!" she whimpered.
I deepened my voice, making it as ominous as possible.
"Tell me... are you the Beta who cleans this place?"
"W-Who are you?!" she stuttered, her voice shaking.
"I..." I paused for effect, "...am the spirit that haunts this forsaken storeroom. The spirit of all the discarded and forgotten objects!"
She took a step back.
"W-What do you want?!" she squeaked, looking ready to bolt.
I smirked. Got her.
"My request is simple..." I intoned dramatically. "I wish to be freed from this prison. And if you refuse..." I let my voice drop into a menacing growl, "...I will never let you leave either!"
Right on cue, BAM!
Gem slammed the door shut behind her.
Ha! This is working!
The Beta maid screamed and dropped to her knees, shaking in pure terror.
"W-Wait!" she sobbed.
"You are aware of my power as a spirit, aren't you?" I continued, letting my voice echo in the dimly lit room. "As long as you remain here, I will torment you... I will hurl objects at you for eternity!"
And just like that, Marsh, Daryl, and Martin began pelting her with random junk from the storeroom—old books, wooden planks, and even a broken dumbbell (though thankfully, they missed! Haha!).
The Beta maid shrieked in fear.
"F-Fine! I'll help you escape! Just please—LET ME GO!" she wailed. "W-What do you need?! How do I free you?!"
I crossed my arms, grinning.
"You must ensure that no one is in our way when we leave. Also—where is the entrance to Prince Deux's garage?"
She sniffled, clutching her broom like a lifeline. "I-It's to the right after the hallway!"
Bingo!
"There must be no one there when I pass through," I warned. "If there is... I will never let you rest."
The maid whimpered but nodded furiously.
"Oh, and one more thing..." I added.
"W-What?!"
"After we—I mean, after my spirit turns right, where do I go next?" I demanded. "I need all the details. No missing information."
Her breath hitched. "A-After turning right, go straight ten steps and you'll see a staircase leading down! At the bottom, there's a large door that leads to the garage."
I narrowed my eyes. "Any guards?"
"N-No! It's empty at this hour!"
"Good." I smirked. "Now, you may leave. But before you go—once you've cleared the path, I demand that you step into the hallway, shout 'WOOT-WOOT', and jump three times to signal that the way is safe. I will be watching you. Disobey... and you'll never escape me!"
She gulped, nodding rapidly.
Gem threw the door open, and the Beta maid bolted out like her life depended on it.
As soon as she was gone, we all stood up from our hiding spots laughing.
"Ha! Easy!" I said smugly, dusting off my clothes.
Marsh shook his head, laughing. "I still don't understand how your ridiculous plans actually work."
I grinned. "Told you! When I make the plan, it's foolproof!"
A few seconds later—
"WOOT-WOOT!"
We peeked through the crack in the door and watched as the terrified maid jumped three times, flailing her arms like a maniac.
We barely held back our laughter.
As soon as she dashed away, I turned to the others. "Alright! Game! The coast is clear! Let's go!"
We sprinted out of the warehouse and followed the path she had given us.
Right turn—check.
Ten steps forward—check.
And just as she said, there was the staircase.
We hurried down, one by one. Marsh, Gem, Daryl, and Martin went ahead—but just as I was about to follow, a sudden noise stopped me in my tracks.
"Where are you taking me?! Let me go!"
My heart skipped a beat.
That voice—
I knew that voice.
"Shut up, Beta," a deep, cold voice responded.
I turned sharply, pressing myself against the wall, heart pounding.
"Jiggs! Come on!" Marsh called in a hushed whisper.
"You guys go ahead! I need to check something! Wait for me at the garage door!" I whispered back, signaling for them to move.
As soon as they left, I crouched behind a massive decorative plant, peering through the shadows.
And what I saw made my blood run cold.
Doctor Henry.
He was being dragged down the hall by two Alpha Males, his arms restrained as he struggled.
And walking behind them—
The Alpha King.
My stomach dropped.
What the hell were they planning to do to Doctor Henry?!
Tsk!
This is bad.
I watched as the two Alpha males dragged Doctor Henry into a room not far from my hiding spot.
Seconds later, they stepped out, leaving him inside.
Perfect.
I waited for them to walk away, my heart pounding in anticipation.
The moment I had the chance, I crept toward the door and pressed my ear against it, eager to listen in.
"Why have you brought me here?" Doctor Henry's voice was firm, but I could hear the tension beneath it.
The Alpha King responded in a deep, commanding tone. "I have an important mission for you. And if you want me to spare your life—like I did before—you will do exactly as I say."
Oh? Interesting.
And because I am the Nosy King of Eavesdropping, I didn't just stop at listening. (This is how I get my intel! Hehe!)
There was a tiny hole in the door.
So, obviously, I had to take a peek.
Through the small opening, I saw Doctor Henry sitting on a chair.
Meanwhile, the Alpha King stood before him—holding a whip.
...
A. WHIP.
I nearly choked on my own spit.
"The Alpha King is pure evil! First Champ, now Doctor Henry?! Who's next?!" I muttered under my breath, gripping the doorframe.
I turned my focus back inside.
"As a skilled doctor, you possess vast knowledge..." the Alpha King said, his voice steady and calculating. "I want you to look at my body. Study it."
...WHAT.
"LOOK AT HIS BODY?! STUDY IT?!"
Wait—WAIT. HOLD ON.
Don't tell me...
Don't tell me the Alpha King is into Doctor Henry?!
But—but he's a Beta! And a man!
Does he LIKE him?!
My jaw nearly dropped to the floor. This was like watching a soap opera and accidentally walking in on the confrontation scene of the century of two secret lovers!
Doctor Henry frowned. "What do you mean...?"
And then—
The Alpha King did something that made my eyes nearly pop out of my skull.
He took off his shirt.
HE TOOK OFF HIS SHIRT.
"NO WAY."
I gripped my chest, struggling not to scream.
"Don't tell me—don't tell me this old man actually captured Doctor Henry just so he could force him to admire his body from head to toe?! Alpha King, what the hell?! Even a Beta male isn't safe from you?!"
I took a deep breath, trying to process this absolute mess.
Wait...
Could an Alpha actually fall for a Beta?
Nah. No way.
Inside, the Alpha King stretched out his arms, chest wide open, as if putting himself on full display.
"Look closely at my body!" he commanded.
EWW!
He was acting like he wanted Doctor Henry to lust after him!
Gross!
I mean, sure, the Alpha King for his age is kind of... hunky? And, okay, Doctor Henry was well-built, too. And they were around the same age, so it wasn't completely—
WAIT.
WHY AM I EVEN THINKING ABOUT THIS?!
Focus, Jiggs. FOCUS.
The Alpha King narrowed his eyes. "Do you see anything unusual about my body?"
Doctor Henry was silent for a moment.
Then, he muttered, "At first glance, I wouldn't notice. But upon closer inspection... you can tell that—"
WHAAAAAAT?!
Doctor Henry, don't tell me you're actually falling for him?!
The Alpha King smirked. "Good. That's why I chose you."
Tsk! Chose him... TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF?!
But—wait.
Hold on.
If this keeps up, then—
What if Doctor Henry is actually an Omega pretending to be a Beta?!
OH NO.
What if—
WHAT IF THE ALPHA KING IS ALSO AN OMEGA PRETENDING TO BE AN ALPHA?!
WAIT—WAIT.
WHAT IF I'M ACTUALLY AN OMEGA AND I JUST DON'T KNOW IT?!
WHAT IF EVERY MAN IN THIS KINGDOM IS SECRETLY AN OMEGA?!
Jiggs, GET A GRIP.
The Alpha King's voice snapped me out of my spiral.
"You are the only one who knows about my condition."
Oho. A condition?
"Yes! A severe condition where you're so desperate you'd even try to impregnate a Beta!" I muttered under my breath.
The Alpha King continued, "That is why I need you to study my body and find a cure for my illness."
...
Wait.
...Wait.
Did I... did I misinterpret everything?!
So—so he wasn't trying to seduce Doctor Henry?
He actually just has some weird incurable illness?!
I slumped against the wall, gripping my head.
"So all my wild theories were... WRONG?! He's just SICK?!"
But then—
Wait.
If he's sick...
If this disease is serious...
And if there's no cure yet...
Then...
Then that means...
The Alpha King might actually DIE.
I blinked.
Hold on.
This is a GOOD thing, isn't it?!
If he dies, then Champ can finally live in peace!
I was about to do a little victory dance when—
Wait.
Something didn't sit right.
This wasn't going to be that easy.
The Alpha King wasn't the type to just sit around and wait for death.
If we weren't careful...
He would probably kill us first.
And I just know he's going to use Doctor Henry to cure himself! So he can live even longer and continue ruling this world!
Anyway, I've gathered enough information for now. I have to go back to my mission!
...
As soon as I reached the bottom of the stairs, my eyes went wide at the sight in front of me.
"No way...!" I whispered in horror.
Blocking the only exit to the garage—was Silver.
Grinning.
Like a cat that just found a cornered mouse.
"I knew I'd find you here," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "Ha! Trying to pretend as a spirit to scare off a beta maid? Sounds menacing..."
I swallowed hard. My legs refused to move.
My 99% success rate just evaporated into thin air.
Because the 1% chance of failure I was so sure wouldn't happen... was standing right in front of me.
Damn it!
"W-Wait a second, Silver..." I stammered, forcing a nervous smile.
Silver tilted his head, eyes narrowing slightly.
"Please, we need to get out of here using Deux's car. If we don't, Champ will be in danger."
Silver inhaled deeply, his gaze dark and unreadable.
He wasn't budging.
Desperate, I tried again.
"I know we are not friends. But just this once—just this time—let us through."
For a moment, he didn't speak.
Then—
"And what exactly do I get in return for granting your request?" he asked smoothly, arching a brow.
Uh-oh.
I hadn't thought that far ahead.
I frantically looked around for an idea—any idea.
But my brain? Completely blank.
So, naturally—
"M-My body!" I blurted out.
...
Wait.
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST SAY?!
My face instantly burned as the words registered in my own ears.
I barely had time to process my own stupidity before—
Silver laughed.
Not just any laugh.
A mocking, insulting, 'Are-you-seriously-this-dumb' kind of laugh.
Like I just told him the stupidest joke in existence.
I scowled. "You know, you could at least pretend to be flattered!"
Silver smirked. "Do you even hear yourself? Me? Interested in your body? A Beta's body?" He chuckled darkly. "You might as well have said I've lost my damn mind."
Tsk!
Okay. That didn't work.
Plan B—oh wait, I didn't have a Plan B!
If I make one, Plan B is to fight him! But that will lead to 0% chance of success considering how strong he is!
Think, Jiggs! Think!
What the hell do I do now?!
...
...
...
Silver's POV
"I'll call you 'Master!' I'll do everything you want! I'll be your servant for a day!" Jiggs pleaded, his voice desperate.
I stared at him, unimpressed.
Nothing.
"For a week!" he tried again.
Still nothing.
"For a month!" he shouted, eyes wide with hope.
I simply crossed my arms, expression blank.
"For a year! Fine! No take-backs! I promise! I'll do whatever you say, I'll become your personal slave! Just let us escape!" Jiggs begged, practically on his knees now.
Before I could answer, voices echoed from the hall.
"I heard shouting near the garage!" an Alpha male called out. "A Beta maid said she spoke to a spirit looking for Prince Deux's garage!"
Jiggs and his group stiffened in pure panic.
"Please, Silver!" he whispered, his breathing erratic. He dropped to his knees.
"Oh, that is Master Silver for you. Say it again."
I smirked.
"Please, Master Silver!"
"Now, kiss my feet."
Jiggs blinked up at me, frozen.
"Excuse me, what?!"
I arched a brow. "Didn't you say you'd do anything I wanted, Beta?" My smirk widened. "Crawl to me."
Jiggs gawked. "Huh?! Isn't that a bit much?!"
"I thought you said you'd obey me." My tone was teasing, but my expression was sharp.
"Hurry! Before they escape!" The Alphas' voices grew closer, making Jiggs tremble.
I stared him down, waiting.
Jiggs let out a long, suffering sigh, squeezed his eyes shut, and slowly... began crawling.
Pathetic.
By the time he reached me, he was kneeling at my feet, looking up with barely concealed humiliation.
"Now," I mused, thoroughly enjoying this, "kiss my feet. Lick my boots. And say, 'I worship you, Master Silver. You are my God.'"
Jiggs clenched his fists. "You bastard."
"They're getting closer..." I taunted.
He shut his eyes tightly, lowered his head, and slowly leaned down—
"Stop."
Jiggs' head snapped up.
"What?"
I sighed dramatically, stepping toward the garage door.
Then, I pulled it open.
"Get out."
Jiggs stared at me, eyes huge. "S-Silver? Are you serious?"
I didn't look at him. "Leave before I change my mind." My voice was sharp, unwavering.
Jiggs' breathing was fast and uneven, his mind racing. But after a beat, he nodded.
He gestured for his team to go ahead, watching as each of them slipped into the garage.
He was the last to leave.
But just before stepping out, he turned to me.
"Pweh! I take back everything I said! I'm not gonna be your servant!" he declared, sticking his tongue out like a child before slamming the garage door in my face.
...
I stood there for a long moment.
Processing.
Did he just—
Before I could react, the other Alphas arrived.
"Alpha Silver..." One of them hesitated, glancing around.
"What?" I asked coldly.
"We heard shouting...?"
I turned toward the garage door, inhaling deeply.
Then, I exhaled and answered, "That was me. I was on a call. I got angry."
The Alpha looked uncertain but nodded. "Understood. We'll continue patrolling."
As soon as they left, I quietly stepped inside the garage.
Jiggs was already behind the wheel, starting the car.
But before they sped off, he leaned half his body out the window.
"Master Silver!" he called.
I narrowed my eyes.
Then—
He smiled.
"Thanks!"
And just as I processed those words— he raised his right hand and gave me a heart sign finger.
And disappeared into the night.
I lost again in your silly, foolish game!
Every time I plan something, the moment you're there—I never succeed!
Next time we face off, Jiggs, you will lose for sure in this little mind game you're trying to play with me.
...
I stood there, frozen—watching their silhouettes disappear into the distance, swallowed by the night.
My fists curled tightly at my sides, nails digging into skin, the burn grounding me in my turmoil.
Why did I let them escape?
No—worse. Why did I help them?
What the hell was I thinking?
My chest tightened with questions I couldn't answer.
Why... Why am I so confused?!
Everything inside me twisted in knots. Who was I supposed to be helping? Who was I supposed to be fighting?
I didn't know anymore.
My thoughts tangled into chaos, like a storm of voices yelling over each other in my head.
But amid that noise, one name rang out with perfect, searing clarity—
Jiggs.
That Beta.
That smug, conniving, two-faced Beta.
He had the nerve to break our deal. After everything. After crawling at my feet like a desperate dog?
Fine.
Let him run.
Let him believe he's safe.
I will drag him back myself. I'll tear through land, sea, and sky if I have to. I'll hunt him down to the edges of the earth until he remembers exactly who holds the leash.
He will kneel before me.
He will worship me.
Mark. My. Words.
And as for that pathetic notion—
That an Alpha would ever desire a Beta?
I almost laughed.
Impossible.
...But then again—
Why did my chest ache when I thought of him?
"For a fleeting moment... I felt a thrill— a twisted sense of excitement—as he inched closer, ready to lick my boots," I murmured with a smirk, my eyes fixed on the polished leather. "Interesting..."
End of Chapter 29
