Chapter 14 - Sector E In Flames

If it was a matter of getting stronger, that was very much evident.

I could see it. Feel it.

I grew stronger each time I summoned the Forever Armor and it's not just in my abilities but also mentally.

Things that used to seem impossible before were very much possible now so it's only natural to see myself in a new light.

With most of my focus targeted at my progress with the Forever Core it was as if nothing else mattered. And to me, nothing else mattered as much as my goal.

With my current abilities I still probably would be a C-Class, although I have leveled up from the last time I used to the ranking device.

I still trained every second I had the chance to and still did it without letting anyone know about my second enlightenment, not even my friends.

I couldn't risk anyone knowing, especially when the Forever Core clearly stated that.

I had woken up early today as usual to begin my daily task of training myself to be the absolute best, I usually started with a morning jog.

Jogging across the Sector to a remote area of town, a broken down, abandoned warehouse where I spent most of my time.

It was cold, the morning breeze. I didn't like it, but I had to deal with it. I zipped up my hoodie and darted across the freeway into the the walking lane.

The Sun hadn't fully materialized, but it was sure to show its graceful rays in a matter of minutes.

I jogged into a public park and made my way steadily to a bench under a tree.

I sat down on it trying to steady my breathing. A quick glance at my stopwatch, I had been running for 45 minutes.

"Nice..." I muttered.

It was time to pay a little attention to the Forever Core system. Just then I realized I had no way of accessing it without it manifesting on its own.

I stared into blank space waiting for it to make an appearance but nothing came up.

It usually just popped up at the right moment, never really felt the need to access it randomly until now.

I rubbed a dry hand across my chest and felt the Forever Core humming with life and energy.

"Do I tap it?..."

[Host is perplexed]

It finally flickered to life, dancing right in my peripheral view. For some reason, I was really glad to see it. The golden dark outline of the dialogue box lined with energy like pulses.

I let out a huge sigh of relief and watched as the system dropped a rundown of information concerning my physical well-being.

Stamina, strength, agility, and areas of my body that needed attention. Nothing out of the ordinary was noticed so I blew it off and asked for information concerning my abilities.

The more I used the Forever Armor, the more abilities and privileges I unlocked.

So far, I have been able to use "Incinerate" and "Rocket Boost". Incinerate was given to me by default upon acquiring the Core but I gained Rocket Boost during my fight with Ant Goliath.

And their was also the ability to heal damage dealth on my body and the armor itself. I was sure I would find that useful someday.

[New ability unlocked: Compass Needle]

"Ohh!"

[Compass Needle provides detailed information about any element with killing intent towards host]

"Compass Needle, detailed information of anything with killing intent towards me?"

"So that's how I could predict Ant Goliaths attacks and I saw his weak points and his strengths..."

"Amazing!"

"Where does it end with this Forever Core?!..."

[The Forever Core aims to make host more than human, transcending what it means to be called a human being and carrying the mantle of divine at the right time]

I snickered.

"For crying out loud, they wouldn't know what hit them... Tch!" I said with a slight chuckle, feeling proud of myself.

I wondered what kind of privileges the suite will grant me in the future but I sure as hell was excited for that.

"Okay!" I blurted out with a loud sigh as I dragged myself to my feet.

The morning breeze blew past, my blonde hair dancing to its tune.

"Time to go to the abandoned warehouse..." I said and began jogging again out of the park and into the walking lane beside the main road.

Not long after, I made my way into the city square.

Tall buildings, advertising boards and people going about their day. Some had casual clothing, others dressed professionally.

A normal Tuesday in the Sector.

I harboured the thought of people coming up to me immediately I got sighted, recognizing me from my last public appearance.

Remo Renly the machine boy I suppose. Since the media were the ones who picked names for unidentified metahumans, I figured they'd go with that.

As good as it may sound; getting recognized for taking down that villain. It wasn't what I wanted at the moment, maybe sometime in the future.

I try not to think about it too much.

I jogged past civilians, dodging and weaving my way forward till I came to a stop at a zebra crossing.

The street light still shown blood red, so I waited.

Turning to my left was a huge advertising board. On the screen, a birdseye view of a gruesome scene of destruction cascaded along the pixels.

The head line made things even more clearer.

My senses twiched, and eyes widened with surprise.

> BREAKING NEWS: Sector E suffers serious damage as B-CLASS Villains rampages through City E. <

I gritted my teeth and my eyebrows furrowed instinctively.

"Looks like I'm going to Sector E..." I murmured inwardly, placing a firm hand on the Forever Core.
