Seraphina grinned, as if completely satisfied with the answer.
Aurora, however, was not.
Tim lifted his eyes to her, and just as he expected, her expression darkened immediately.
"You can let go now," Aurora said, her voice cool. "She's coming home with me."
Tim's jaw ticked, but he kept his expression relaxed as he straightened. His arm was still wrapped protectively around Seraphina.
"I didn't come here to fight," he said smoothly. "I just want to spend time with my daughter."
Aurora's lips pressed into a thin line.
Seraphina looked between them, sensing the tension but not fully understanding it.
Tim sighed and crouched again, brushing a curl away from Seraphina's face. God, he loved her eyes. She's perfect for him.
"How about this," he said gently. "I take you for ice cream, and then I bring you home to your mom. Deal?"
Seraphina lit up instantly, her head snapping toward Aurora. "Can I?"
Aurora hesitated.
