Numbers rose fast. The watch was a prized artifact, drawing attention from some of the most influential figures in the room. But then, Tim's voice cut through the crowd.
"Two million."
The room stilled.
Aurora arched her brow. He wasn't even trying to hide it, he wanted the item. And he was willing to crush whoever stood in his way.
Well, so was she. She was about to take it easy until he stepped in. Her fingers grazed the bidding paddle. A slow, deliberate movement.
Tim turned to her, and with her eyes fixed on him, she called her price.
"Three million."
The collective gasps around the room only fueled her more.
Tim's eyes darkened, but there was no irritation. If anything, amusement danced behind his gaze, mixed with something deeper.
"Four million."
Aurora let the moment stretch, then, with the slightest smirk, she lifted her paddle once more.
"Five million."
"Ten million."
"Twenty million." Aurora said with an air of finality.
