"This is seriously happening," Naruko said, sounding somewhat dubious.
"…Ya're supposta be scared," the boy with the kunai said. "I'm totes a ninja," he said. "See? I gots a kunai and everythin'."
He did, in fact, have exactly that. A kunai that he was brandishing about, holding it as if it were a switchblade.
Coupled with his dirty and ragged clothing, it set up the image of a street thug fairly well.
"This is really happening!" Naruko said, practically squealing.
"I'm robbin' ya! Ya're not supposta be happy about it, ya crazy broad!" he shouted. "Now gimme your cash 'fore I hafta harm ya!"
"That's cute," Naruko said.

"Seriously, where IS she!?" Satsuki said, noticing that her stomach was beginning to protest the lack of food.
Sighing, she began to wonder whether she should start doing something about the situation and get moving. Thinking about it, it was probably for the best that she did, in fact, do something. Sitting around and waiting never solved anything, and it would at least help her boredom a bit. Even she understood that her brain needed rest every once in a while, so she couldn't just go back to her studying.
Admittedly, she only knew that her brain needed rest as much as her body did because she correlated it to the amount of exposure to Naruko she had, but that was not the matter at hand so it'd be best not to dwell on it. Another of the things Satsuki knew was that one shouldn't spend too long dwelling on non important things when there are more important things to worry about.
Like revenge, or her clan, or her empty stomach. That was quite annoying.
After realizing that she'd been pacing for a while, Satsuki decided to go out.
It was only after she made it halfway to the ground floor that she remembered that she was wearing Naruko's version of her favorite outfit. She frowned. She could go back and look for something less… skimpy, but that would take valuable time that she could spend doing something else.
She really didn't have time to waste on this sort of thing, but it did stop her for a while. Ultimately deciding that she probably wouldn't find something less revealing than what she was currently wearing amongst Naruko's clothes, or something she'd be willing to wear anyway, 'cause while the maid dress was longer it certainly wasn't something Satsuki would ever wear. She would never accept being someone's servant, no… that was definitely a role she thought fit Naruko way better.
Yeah, she could see it right in her mind. Naruko dusting her home while wearing the outfit, waving a feather duster around… Bending just a bit so it rode up and—
Satsuki slapped herself. "You're NOT a pervert," she scolded, "stop thinking about that!" she said, slapping herself again.
Taking a deep breath, Satsuki stopped thinking about Naruko's clothes and Naruko wearing them and decided to go out as she was.
Meanwhile, in one of Konoha's many parks, Naruko and her would-be mugger sat on a bench. She was eating an ice cream cone, while he was holding one in his right hand but it was clear he wasn't paying much attention to it, as the chocolate ice cream was dripping onto his hand.
Naruko patted the guy's back, absent mindedly licking her own vanilla ice cream cone lest it melt and run down her hands. She'd be loathe to waste the tasty treat that she hadn't paid for. "See, Mugetsu? If you continue down this path, you'll only find pain in your future."
The man, boy really, sniffed. "I… I'm so sorry," he said, sobbing a bit. "I didn't know—-I'm so stupid," he said.
"There, there," Naruko said, "it's not so bad," she added. "You didn't do anything wrong, you just made a mistake. 's okay, I'm sure your mom will understand, and hey, you can always join the academy."
"Ain't I… too old?" Mugetsu asked.
"Nah. Just go visit the old guy and tell him Naruko sent you, he'll do the rest. That way, you'll get a steady salary while you're in the academy, and you can always apply for a desk job, so you can take care of your family," Naruko said, offering him a thumbs up.
"You… you're the best, Naruko-chan, I'm sorry I ever tried to mug you," Mugetsu said, his voice cracking up. "Here… keep this."
Naruko's eyes widened when she looked at the "I couldn't accept it, Mugetsu!" Naruko said. "That's your last link to your father!"
The boy shook his head. "No, I'm sure- yeah, I'm sure he would want it to be that way. You saved me," he said, nodding his head, "you deserve it more than I ever would. I want you to keep it… use it… I don't care. I don't deserve it."
"Mugetsu, I—"
"Thank you, Naruko-chan… for everything… I'll go now. I wish you good luck and I hope we meet again someday!"
"I'm sure we will! But I'll be a jounin then! Maybe you'll even be in my genin team!" Naruko said, giggling.
"I would like that very much," the boy said, bowing and beginning to walk away.
Naruko waved at him as he began to approach an intersection. He turned and gave her one last smile and wave before making a left and disappearing amongst the buildings of Konoha.
"Now… what WAS I doing..?" Naruko wondered, rubbing her chin and getting up

"Have you seen a girl about this tall with long blond hair? She's kind of a ditz, so…" Satsuki said.
"Nope," the shopkeeper said. "Now will you stop eating my tomatoes? At least pay for them!"

"I hate you, so much," Sakura muttered to herself as she dodged a hail of kunai. "Let's escape by sea, you said. They'll never expect us to just run straight, it'll confuse them, you said! LET'S NOT WEAR ANY ARMOR TO WEIGH US DOWN, YOU SAID!" she shrieked, as she nursed a noticeable but shallow cut near her kidneys. "All they need is one lucky shot! We're goddamn lucky the kunai that hit me wasn't poisoned, you jerkass!"
"Sakura," Kakashi said, turning to her, "I don't want to make you angrier or anything, but… I think one of them got your hair."
"Don't worry, I noticed," Sakura said, evenly, "but I think the whole BEING CHASED BY NINJA thing is a bit more important."
"True," Kakashi said. "Also, we're about four kilometers from shore. There's a forest about two hundred meters past the shore, we should be able to lose them easily there."
"Why haven't you just killed them all yet!? I know you can," Sakura said.
"To take care of this many, I'd need to bust out some pretty incriminating techniques, and if I did, then the pretense of us being nondescript nobodies would kinda fall apart," Kakashi said.
"You guys are sounding pretty casual about this," another voice said.
"I've been in worse messes," Kakashi said.
"He's gotten us in worse messes," Sakura added. "Also what the fu—"
Sakura's curse was interrupted as the lone shinobi who'd caught up punched her in the face. However, she was pretty damn skilled with water walking by this point and managed to recover and keep running.
"I'm curious. Who ARE you two?" the guy asked as he caught up to Kakashi.
"Well, she's still kind of a nobody 'cause she just graduated and all," Kakashi said evenly, "but you just got done pissing Sharingan no Kakashi off by punching his genin in the face, and you're very, very dead."
"If you're the copycat, then where's the Sharingan you're so famous for?" the guy asked, grinning as if he'd called Kakashi's bluff.
"Oh, it's already out, and you're already in a genjutsu. Don't bother trying to get out of it, I would suggest you just remain in it long enough to die so you don't get to suffer because of the three kunai in your liver, lungs and throat."
"Shit," the lone ninja said, but then he said no more, as he set about dispelling a nonexistent Genjutsu. He never did notice that he was never under a genjutsu right up until three kunai landed in vital spots, killing him pretty much instantly.
"That was surprisingly cool," Sakura said. "How did—"
"Years of practice, Sakura," Kakashi said, "I'll teach you to do it later. For now, let's just get running. We're already late to our first target."
"Would you STOP lying to me about time frames!?"
Kakashi cleaned out one of his ears with his pinky. "Sorry, did you say something?"
"I hate you so much…"
"I love you too, Sakura!"
