i am awaken by a noise in the middle of the night
I open my eyes and adjust them to see in the dark by adding a bit of magic
a soft green glow lights up my view
just in time to see someone lunging towards me

immediately the sleepiness clouding my mind clear as I circulate my magic power
I use shadow magic shadow magic to form a cacooon around myself to stop whoever it was from touching me, while also using it to lash out with whips to try and bind the intruder
I'm just starting to shadow travel behind them when the intruder breaks through the magic protecting my body

I try fading faster into the shadows but a hand wrapped in brown light rips through the air before I'm truly intangible

the light was shining from her hands
one hand was already on me and I feel myself harding up

she was dazed and on the floor

they were bleeding profusely
the fox kins nears saf and it seems saf came back to reality
she immediately stands crouching while doing so and putting up a defensive stance

saf goes to channel her magic as little trendles of shadow magic attempts to bind the fox kin
but the fox kin hands glow brown and rips through the trendles with ease and continue on to saf
saf dodge another punch but takes a kick to the gut
knocking her back a few feet
as she disappear into a mass of black that quickly asimulates into the surrounding darkness
saf reappears behind the fox kins back with a plane of darkness in her hands stabbing out towards the fox kins back
the fox kin even looking and withher back was turned sidestep the blade of darkness turning as she did so
and grabbing saf by her neck
she than proceded to lift saf by the neck
only to choke slam saf to the floor
she then raises the dagger in her hand and stabs saf in the breast.
" aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh " Saf scream and it echos all around
" that's right you stupid dumb c@#k blocking bi%$h how does that feel " the fox kin gloats while standing over saf
saf is still screaming in pain and I can't watch anymore
I try desperately to think of a way to help saf....
and then I thought of it

I focus in the fox kin pulling the dagger out of saf to stab her again
I channel my magic power into my head and with a thought the fox kin is thrown into the wall violently
she grunts and tries to pull her face out of the hole she made with it
I am still unable to move but I use more of my mind arts to move saf towards me while also applying pressure to her stab wound
saf groans In pain beside me " nova I don't know what you are doing but you need to kill this psycho bit@% right now " she tells me quietly as I was trying to keep the fox kin from moving
It was already on my mind to kill her
...but can I really do that
just thinking of the fallout of killing someone in a upscale inn left me hesitant
the fox kin moved her fingers and somehow moved the fingers of one of her hands to fold and bend to her wrist

blood shoots out of decapitated body landing on us
while the head came to rest on its side right in front of saf
the magic holding me in place dissappear and I fall back a bit instinctively away from the dead body
"uugghh" I bump into saf who was also staring at the head in front of her but still online pain from her stabbing
" are you ladies alright " we turn to the voice and see and older version of the bartender standing on the middle of the room
she was looking us over while using a rag to wipe the blood off the sword

... I filed that away and look at the dead body resting on my bed

I would isually guard against outside forces at night but with it so peaceful in the city I lapsed in my duty and fell alseep.

" anyway you can't stay in this room, but unfortunately there are no vacates as I try daily to rent out all my rooms before I close the front doors for the night " the elf looks at me and state

the dead body apparently momentarily forgotten
