Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: An Assasination Plot

Hidden location, Arkansas Empire.

Two hooded figures entered the lascivious bar with unknown intentions.

They discreetly opened the door of the bar leading to a place full of various people.

"It's full of these people drinking and dancing in the middle of the day without the care for the Empire, huh?"

The hooded man observed the frivolous people drinking and dancing to the beat of music made by Satella, a woman of great beauty from the Principalia of Renkenberg, a city-state and one of the allies of the Arkansas Empire, before.

She made her songs extremely seductive to the point that some people believe that she can infuse her mana with her music.

The man continued to observe the people dancing snickered, "With these types of people, it's no wonder that the Empire was currently falling behind with other nations— due to these types of subjects that throw away their lives to these types of activities instead of just helping the Empire to grow and furnish like the same at its peak."

"True, the once known as The Greatest Empire of the Human World, was behind with other human nations? What a joke it is, hehe."

His partner added, she smiled evilly at the people dancing in the room.

"Shall we kill them?"

The man answered in a calm tone, "No, forget about it. It's not our job to reprimand these trash of society. Let's take the bounty mission for now and earn money."

"Let's move." The hooded man said as they slowly walked to the manager of the bar observing them, as they ordered something.

"Give me some vodka with Ashen tears, wheat bread buttered to the core, and lastly, some life potions for my healing."

"Umm, okay, I understand."

The manager carefully said as he went to the inner place of his bar.

Then, he came back and delivered the things that they ordered carefully.

"Also, can we take one room please?"

The man added, as if he's finding a room to spend a night with his partner.

The manager answered slowly to the two hooded figures.

"You can take the one room on the right side of this bar, walk to the aisle and take the room, and spend the night there, it all costs 20 copper arka."

For reference: Arka was the currency of the Arkansas Empire and it was divided by four groups. Copper, Bronze, Silver and Gold in ascending form.

"Okay, I understand."

He handed out the money and said, looking at the manager of the bar.

"Thank you."

Then, they walked to the place that the manager was talking about, the room they have to spend the night with.

Well, those exchanges that they have were some secret codes of the Assassin's world.

That manager was known as one of the accomplices of the Assassin World.

If that man tells them to enter the aisle of the left room, it means that someone put a kill order on their head, and are waiting to ambush them. It served as an escape route for people who have those kill orders.

If it's right, then, it's all good and no one's gonna come for them.

And that's why he's one of the most respected on the Assassin World. He's impartial and fair regardless of how shitty the current Arkansas Empire was and the Underworld.

Moreover, it's kill or be killed after all.

It's the Assassin's World, no one gives a shit if you're the kindest in the Empire, and even in the Continental Alliance.

If you mess up with someone that has a lot of power, expect that there's someone coming for your head, and these assassins like them were hired, they will really try to kill you even if it costs their lives or ours.

They opened the door to the single bedroom and what appeared is this; a small tattered bed, a lampshade, some old books, a wooden table and a small oak chair on the side of it.

A really simple room for someone who wants to spend the night with.

However, they have a purpose for coming into this place.

They want to get a mission, a kill order so that they can earn money.

Thus, they began searching for the place for one purpose, it's to find a hidden compartment that has a switch on it.

It will direct you to a hidden room of this bar where there's a lot of kill orders and some kind of dangerous missions that come from the Underworld.

Then, they started searching the whole room, from the bed to the books, the wooden table and oak chair, they searched it all if there was something on it.

"It's always difficult like this. You know?" His partner said while searching in the pages of the old books.

"Yes it was, if they were to find out, they would be immediately killed afterall. It's best to be discreet like this." I added looking at the upside down chair on the side of the table looking for clues.

That's when I noticed the still glowing lampshade, continuously flickering even if we unplugged its cord to the socket.

We searched it and noticed a hidden compartment hidden under the lampshade.

And the hooded man carefully placed his hand on the compartment.

Shingggg

And the hidden room opened.

They entered the hidden room carefully, checking if there were some traps on it.

"Looks like nothing was added", I said to my partner as I still vigilantly looked at the room.

"I think so too." My partner added looking at the thing infront of us.

It had nothing on the inside with just a wooden board and some strange papers hanging on it.

However, in the Underworld, this board was known as the Kill Order Board.

A board full of kill orders for the assassins of the underworld to take with.

They looked at the various kill missions of the board with full vigilance, weighing the pros and cons of assassinating someone.

"It's too difficult."

"It's too dangerous."

"We might be on our way to hell if we accept this."

"Fuck, this bastard was on this board."

Looking at the picture of a particular prominent man in the Empire, in a bad way.

Well, the board consists of these following missions; killing the Duke of Stavros which we do not even bother due to how difficult it is, kidnapping the Princess of Elvenheim which was death in itself, even entering Elvenheim was difficult. The death of the Emperor of Arkansan Empire which was a suicide mission. And lastly, the assasination of the Marquis' second son, Keizen al Nevestria.

"Is this him? Hmm. He does look like the younger version of Marquis Seiren."

He carefully said, looking at the picture of the kill order in detail, trying to memorize every corner of his face.

His white hair, which was a prominent characteristic of Marquis Seiren's lineage. His red agate-like eyes that look like it's made from stone of the blood moon. His perfectly accentuated nose and jaw that looks like a perfected structure of biological anatomy, as well as his overall face, a perfect definition of an art.

"He's fine as shit." The hooded woman said as she's looking at the picture.

Even she, an assassin felt this fascination of someone towards beauty.

Well, it's a shame to kill him, but we have to eat, you know?

It's also no wonder that there are a lot of noble ladies that like this man even if he's a bastard, he certainly looks like someone who's the prince in the white horse, a man who will make girls fall in love with him at first sight.

"It looks doable."

The hooded man said carefully, trying to weigh again the pros and cons of this mission, looking at the poster of the man in black suit.

"Yes, true. We might be able to pull this off with the right amount of preparation." The woman added.

Why?

Due to an interesting rumor nowadays in the high society of the Arkansas Empire.

This man, Keizen, was already half-disowned by his family due to his errantic behavior and misdemeanors towards the Empire.

And he's also known by the nickname of....

The Biggest Douchebag of the Arkansas Empire.

"Then, We'll take it, I trust your decision."

His partner seductively answered, looking firmly at the hooded man with trust in her eyes.

"Nevertheless, It's the only mission that is currently doable in this board of suicide quests."

The hooded one he's talking to nodded.

"Okay, let's do it~"

They slowly walked out from the hidden room and went to the strangely calm manager despite his initial actions.

"We'll take up this kill quest."

The man put the quest in the manager's table.

Well, there's a lot of transformation magic with all of the kill quest papers from the board— it looks like the hooded man handed a drink to the manager from a stranger's point of view.

"Ohhh, the Douchebag of the Empire, huh?"

The man snicked, "Well, goodluck on your mission, you two."

"Thank you."

The man replied respectfully to the manager of the bar and then, the two hooded figures exited the bar quietly.
