Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

THIRD PERSON'S POV.

"Can you quit tapping your pen on the table? You're distracting me," Lucas said, irritated.

Noah dropped the pen. "That stubborn girl," he cussed, running his hand through his scattered hair. "She just keeps ruining my plans."

"Why don't we get another girl to act like our mate? Someone more submissive and easy to control," Lucas suggested. "We both know she will slow us down, so why bother?"

"The lycan king knows about Sasha, and if we want him to think we are capable and responsible, we need to make amends with her," Noah explained.

Lucas furrowed his brows. "Is he also aware that Sasha is an omega, way below our league?"

"I tried to tell him that, but he said if the moon goddess sees her fit to be our mate, then so be it," Noah replied.

"I wonder why the lycan king is so concerned about our mate," Lucas questioned.

"Me too, but that's the least of my worries. Right now, I need Sasha to like us," Noah hissed.

The Lycan King was the last of his kind, the original wolves crafted by the Moon Goddesses. He noticed the Alpha triplets because they were the strongest and most fearless Alphas in the district and feared by everyone. He hired them to fight his enemies, promising them more money and land in return for their service. However, recently he has been so concerned about their mate, Sasha. The triplets were unaware of the reason, but if it meant gaining more power, they were willing to do anything to get on the Lycan king's good side.

Lucas walked to the bar and poured a glass of strong liquor, finishing it in one gulp. "The Lycan king will be visiting in a month, and we need Sasha to behave well before then."

The door swung wide open, revealing Henry and Sasha at the entrance. Henry held some of Sasha's belongings, wearing a smug look.

"I told you I could bring her home, brothers," he declared with pride as he strolled into the house.

Noah raised his brows in disbelief. "How were you able to bring that wild animal home?" he said, barely glancing at Sasha.

"Have a little more faith in me, brothers. I may be the youngest, but I sure have my way with women," Henry winked.

"I would not call her a woman; she is too weird," Noah hissed.

"I would not call you a man since you cried like a baby after getting beaten by me," Sasha replied, crossing her arms.

"Beaten? By you?" Noah scoffed. "You hit my balls, woman. And I did not cry."

Sasha rolled her eyes. "Maybe you didn't cry, but I sure injured your ego so badly that you decide to throw a tantrum."

"You!" Noah yelled, pointing his hands towards her. "You..."

Lucas intervened, speaking for the first time. "That's enough. Please leave."

"This woman needs to know her place," Noah replied, red in the face.

"I said leave," Lucas commanded. Noah murmured a few inaudible words before storming out of the room.

"And you too," Lucas turned to Henry, who was smiling from ear to ear, enjoying the drama.

"Uhm, me?" he pointed to himself, "I didn't do anything."

"I want to speak with Sasha alone," Lucas said.

"I promise I will be quiet," Henry said. Lucas gave him a dirty look, and Henry raised his hands in the air. "Fine, I will leave."

Once alone in the room, Henry walked up to the bar and poured two glasses of wine, handing one to Sasha. She waved her hand dismissively, declining the offer.

"I didn't ask if you like it or not, just drink," Lucas said with a straight face.

Sasha raised her eyebrows. "I don't think Noah informed you, but that attitude does not work on me."

Lucas still held the glass, glaring at her. "I'm not Noah."

"Okay, big guy," Sasha replied softly, taking the drink from his hands and sitting beside him. "How do I know this is not poisoned?"

"You think we would ask you to come to our home just to kill you?" Lucas asked.

"Anything is possible with you guys," Sasha said, biting her lips.

"I know you don't like us," Lucas paused. "But I honestly don't care."

"Oh, my poor heart," Sasha said, feigning offence. "For a moment there, I thought you were about to apologise to me."

"Apologies? Why would I do that?" he said, genuinely confused.

"For starters, for making my life a living hell since seventh grade," Sasha said.

"It's not my fault you are a weirdo," Lucas retorted.

"Weirdo! That's not the word I would use to describe me," Sasha replied.

"And what would you use?" he eyed her.

"Hmm, let me think?" Sasha said, rolling her hair in her hand and batting her lashes. "Smart. Witty. Beautiful and Sexy."

"Beautiful and sexy?" he scoffed.

"You don't think I'm sexy," Sasha asked with wide eyes.

"No, I have seen better women who embody that word perfectly," Lucas asserted.

Sasha felt a sting of pain at the last word. Normally, she did not care about what the triplets thought of her, but right now, she felt the need to prove Lucas wrong.

"And who would you describe as a sexy woman?" Sasha asked, nibbling on her bottom lip, a habit she had when nervous.

He took the glass from her hands and placed it on the table, his eyes never leaving hers for a second. Lucas brushed the hair covering her face and carefully tucked it behind her ears. Sasha swallowed hard, fully aware of how flustered she looked. Her heart kept missing beats as his face drew closer to hers; the room felt small, and in that moment, Sasha cared for nothing but to be kissed by him.

She closed her eyes in anticipation, craving his lips to consume her, but it never came. Sasha opened her eyes, and Lucas was trying so hard not to laugh at her. Embarrassed, she pushed him.

"A sexy woman would not succumb to the first touch of a man," he said, still smiling.

Sasha shot him a deadly glare, grabbed her bag, and angrily headed towards another room.

"Your room is the other way," he laughed.

She hissed and made her way out of the room.
