Synopsis

I stood frozen, the burning pain still searing through my skin. My breaths came out in short, shaky gasps as I stared at the girl in front of me.  


She had just poured boiling water on me.  


My mind struggled to process it. My body screamed in pain, but my anger was louder.  


"You poured hot water on me, and i'm the one to blame?" My voice was low, dangerous. "And you're calling me disgusting?"  


I didn't recognize her, but something about her face felt familiar. Like I had seen her before, in passing—just another nameless pack member who never mattered to me.  


She scoffed, crossing her arms. "I didn't pour it on you. You were the blind and disgusting one who couldn't watch where you were going. You made me spill the water I needed—so, really, you deserved it."  


Her words were sharp, but my anger was sharper.
