The alpha's words hung in the air like a challenge, leaving Anna, Georgia, and Riya wondering what kind of situation he was referring to.
"What is it?" Anna asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.
The alpha's expression turned grim. "It's James, my brother. He's been acting strangely lately, and I've just received word that he's been seen meeting with some of the rival pack members."
Georgia's eyes narrowed. "What does that mean?"
The alpha's jaw clenched. "It means that James may be planning to betray me, and possibly even the entire pack."
Riya's eyes widened in shock. "But why? James has always been loyal to you, Alpha."
The alpha shook his head. "I don't know, Riya. But I aim to find out. I need to speak with James immediately."
Anna, Georgia, and Riya exchanged a look, all of them thinking the same thing: this was getting serious.
"I'll go get James," Riya said, standing up.
The alpha nodded. "Thank you, Riya. I'll meet you in the throne room."
Riya hurried out of the room, leaving Anna, Georgia, and the alpha alone.
The alpha turned to them, his expression serious. "I need to ask you both something."
"What is it?" Anna asked.
The alpha hesitated before speaking. "I need to know if you've seen or heard anything suspicious lately. Anything that might indicate James is planning something."
Georgia shook her head. "No, we haven't seen or heard anything."
Anna nodded in agreement. "We've been keeping a pretty low profile since we got here."
The alpha nodded, seeming to accept their answer. "Very well. I'll go meet with James now."
He stood up, his movements fluid and powerful. Anna and Georgia watched as he strode out of the room, his presence commanding attention.
As soon as he was gone, Georgia turned to Anna. "What do you think is going on?"
Anna shook her head. "I don't know, but it sounds serious."
Georgia nodded. "Yeah, it does. I hope James isn't really planning to betray the alpha."
Anna's eyes narrowed. "I don't think James is that kind of person. There must be something more going on."
Georgia nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I think you're right. We just need to figure out what it is."
Just then, Riya returned, looking worried. "Guys, I have some bad news."
"What is it?" Anna asked.
Riya hesitated before speaking. "James is gone. He wasn't in his room, and no one has seen him."
Anna, Georgia, and Riya exchanged a look, all of them thinking the same thing: this was not good.
The alpha's voice echoed from the throne room, his words urgent. "Riya, I need to speak with you now."
Riya nodded, hurrying out of the room. Anna and Georgia followed, curious about what was happening.
As they entered the throne room, they saw the alpha pacing back and forth, his movements agitated. Riya stood before him, her eyes wide with worry.
"Alpha, what's wrong?" Riya asked.
The alpha stopped pacing, his eyes locked on Riya. "James has been seen leaving the pack lands. I think he's gone to join the rival pack."
Riya's eyes widened in shock. "But why, Alpha?"
The alpha's jaw clenched. "I don't know, Riya. But I aim to find out."
Anna, Georgia, and Riya exchanged a look, all of them thinking the same thing: this was getting more and more complicated by the minute.
The alpha's voice echoed through the room, his words firm. "I need to gather the pack and figure out what to do next."
Riya nodded, hurrying out of the room. Anna and Georgia followed, curious about what would happen next.
As they left the throne room, Anna turned to Georgia. "This is getting serious."
Georgia nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it is. I hope the alpha can figure out what's going on."
Anna's eyes narrowed. "I think there's more to this than meets the eye."
Georgia raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Anna hesitated before speaking. "I don't know, but I think James might be in more danger than we think."
Georgia's eyes widened in surprise. "What makes you think that?"
Anna's eyes locked on Georgia's. "I just have a feeling."
