Jaymir continued treading down the dirt road, showing signs of boredom as he released a sigh, causing a deep, long-winded breath to release from his lips. In the distance, deer frolicked, while watching Jaymir closely as if they had never seen him before.
Jaymir could sense the fear from them, but also a hint of curiosity. Besides the deer, even other animals watched Jaymir from a distance, rodents from the ground to the trees halted as Jaymir continued his way, it was like the forest themselves were watching him like he was a criminal. Even the birds watched him with confusion and curiosity.
Despite the whole forest watching him, he heard the breeze cut through the trees, trying to whisper the gentle secrets of the forest, though he couldn't understand. he also heard the chirps of the insects still, the chatter of the critters, and the heavenly songs of the birds.
The wind-blown dirt up in the air dancing around Jaymir, as if it wants him to dance with it. Jaymir had never witnessed this before from nature, and it put a sad look on his face, as it was so peaceful, so gentle, and he couldn't believe humankind treated it so poorly, even him at times.
Suddenly a noise he knew too well, and he quickly gripped his knife that he made from seaweed, coral-like stone, and wood. The noise pierced the air like a warning to him and the animals that they were coming, to hunt and kill. The noise was a howl from a pack of wolves, or that is what Jaymir thought, but it wasn't.
The ground trembled and branches and twigs cracked and broke under the weight of these mighty beasts. Shadows passed by in the distance within the forest. Every animal that had their attention on Jaymir, was no longer interested in him, it was survival of the fitness as they ran for their lives.
The howl pierced the air again, causing Jaymir to halt in fear, as a shiver went down his spine. The Howl was raspy and powerful, nothing like a pack of wolves. Finally, he saw one of them and he froze in fear. The beast was half his size, the head of a wolf with fangs of a sabretooth, which were long and sharp. Its body was of a large wild cat, with a torn and ruined mane, while its ears looked of a bear. Its tail was long and thin with a busy tip on the end of its tail.
The fearsome beast slowly turned its head toward Jaymir, with eyes widening in shock as it was surprised to see Jaymir. The beast growled a deep angry growl, and its widened eyes turned narrow, almost into a glare, showing its teeth and drool as if it was hungry and ready to kill, but how it was acting it seemed like it wanted revenge. It slowly turned towards Jaymir creeping upon him.
It was about to pounce at Jaymir until another raspy howl formed getting the attention of the beast. Its ears picked up and its head quickly turned, and it glared back at Jaymir as if telling him he was coming back for him. Without another second passing the beast bolted towards the howl. Jaymir took a breath and patted his chest trying to keep calm, as he watched the beast disappear into the forest.
However, Jaymir was not in the clear just yet, he needed to get out of this forest as soon as possible. He continued his way, but he started to walk faster.
Suddenly he started to hear a sign of a wagon from behind him. The expression of fear to excitement turned instantly. He looked back behind him and for sure a wagon was coming down the road. Jaymir couldn't hold his excitement back he waved his hands while calling out, "Hey! Hey! Please for the love of all goodness, please stop!"
The wagon slowed down, then halted in its path. The animal pulling the wagon was a two-legged bird-like creature. The wagon on the other hand looked like a wagon, but it had bottles with liquid in them and plants hanging from it. A Squeaky raspy voice came from the driver's seat, "You need a ride, mister?" Jaymir nodded in excitement, "Yes, please yes." he climbed on not thinking of the situation he might gotten into.
