Jaymir sat down, by the driver to realize the driver was small in stature, about half his size. With a quick snap of the reins, the driver yelled, "Let's go!" The two-legged bird-like creature sent out a crying squawk and started to pull the wagon. It was slow at first, but in time the wagon began to pick up speed. The bottles hanging from the wagon clanked together, and the wagon creaked and groaned in its old age, but the bird-like creature stomped on the ground causing the dirt to stir upwards.
Jaymir watched the shadows of the forest with a shaky expression on his face, and that is when he heard the driver chuckle as he said, "Oh, I know that look anywhere." Jaymir looked back at the driver, "excuse me?" the driver explained himself, "They are quite intimidating, aren't they?" the driver pointed at the pack of beasts' shadows in the distance, showing his claw from his sleeve.
Jaymir looked at where the driver was pointing at then he quickly looked back at the claw of the driver. His eyes widened in fear as he replied with nervousness, "Um, yeah." Jaymir then looked at the driver fully noticing he had a hood and a mask covering his face. Jaymir's words escaped his lips thinking he was keeping what he said to himself, "What are you?" the driver smirked, and his eyes shot towards Jaymir and replied, "Oh, yeah, the name is Felix, Felix the kobold." Felix removed his hood and the mask that was covering his face as he continued, "Just got from a town that was hit with a nasty storm earlier."
Jaymir stared at Felix his eyes widening in shock. The driver was a creature he only saw in myths. Felix was part lizard and part Rat, and not only that, but Felix's attire also was a robe, a belt with pouches, and glasses on his face. Felix got an annoyed expression on his face as he stated, "You know it rude to stare mister!" Jaymir blinked and shook his head as if he were confused, "I am sorry, but I've never seen anything like you before." Felix looked at Jaymir as he said, "Yeah? Well, I could say the same about you."
Jaymir's expression tightened in confusion as he asked, "What do you mean?" Felix explained himself, "Well, Humans are just myths here in Eytheria." Jaymir closed his eyes and shook his head, "Wait, what is Eytheria?" Felix looks at Jaymir with confusion, "Did you hit your head, mister? Eytheria is the world you are in." Jaymir's eyes widened in shock as he realized he was no longer on earth.
Jaymir's expression took a look of concern and loss, as he asked, "So Eytheria is a world of fantasy? Does that mean the bottles on your wagon are potions and elixirs? like magic?" Felix tilts his head in wonder as he replies, "Well, alchemy is like a kind of science, but yeah some do consider it to be magic."
Felix snaps the reins again as he says, "ok, so you got enough info for now about me, my wagon, and the world I live in." he continues by asking, "But, who are you, mister?" Jaymir shakes his head snapping out of his shock stance and replies, "Oh, oh right! I am Jaymir Tradesworth, sorry for being so rude. It is just a lot to take in."
Felix laughs and says, "Man, I can only imagine." Felix and Jaymir talked for hours and days, about the world and how Jaymir found himself in this world while continuing down the road.
