Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Quick connection

It was just another day at school, and Bella was passing through the busy hallway, her mind wandering. She was thinking about the weekend plans with her friends when, suddenly, she bumped right into someone.

"Whoa! Sorry!" Bella exclaimed, looking up. It was Donald, the star of the football team. He had that charming smile that always made her heart race.

"Dont worry! I was not watching where I was going," Donald said, grinning widely. His bright blue eyes sparkled, and Bella felt a flutter in her stomach.

As they both took a step back, Bella noticed his new nice sneakers. "Nice shoes! Are they new?" she asked, trying to break the slight awkwardness.

"Yeah! Just got them," Donald replied, looking down at his feet proudly. "Did you like it?"

"Definitely! I wish I could pull off sneakers like that," Bella said, laughing a little. She felt more relaxed now, and his smile made her feel warm inside.

They started walking together toward their next class. "So, what's your favorite superhero movie?" Bella asked, curious.

"Oh man, that's tough! I'd say the one with all the epic battles. You know the one where the heroes team up?" Donald replied, looking thoughtful.

"Yeah! I love that one! The action scenes are insane!" Bella said, her eyes lighting up. "I'm more into adventure films, though. The kind where they go on wild quests and stuff."

"Like treasure hunts?" Donald asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Exactly! The more action, the better!" Bella said, feeling excited to share her interests.

As they walked, they gisted easily about movies, music, and school. Bella laughed at Donald's jokes, and she noticed how genuine he was. He listened intently and made her feel like she was the only one in the room.

Suddenly, Jake, Donald's rival, walked by with his usual swagger. He smirked and called out, "What's up, lovebirds?"

Bella felt her cheeks heat up. "We're just talking!" she replied, trying to keep her voice steady.

"Sure, sure. Just keep an eye on him, Bella!" Jake winked and walked away, chuckling.

"Ugh, he's so annoying," Donald said, rolling his eyes. "But he's just joking. You know how he is."

"Yeah, I know. But still…" Bella said, smiling at Donald. She liked how he didn't let Jake's teasing bother him.

Their connection felt natural and easy, like they had known each other forever. They laughed and joked as they walked to class, and Bella felt a thrill of happiness.

Later that day, Bella met up with Sarah, her best friend, at lunch. "You'll never guess who I bumped into!" Bella said, grabbing a slice of pizza.

"Who?" Sarah asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"Donald! We talked and laughed. It was... nice!" Bella said, feeling butterflies in her stomach.

"Nice? Just nice?" Sarah teased, wiggling her eyebrows. "Sounds like someone's got a crush!"

"Shhh! It's just a connection!" Bella giggled, feeling shy. "We just clicked, you know?"

Sarah leaned in closer, "I can totally see it! You two would be cute together!"

Bella rolled her eyes but couldn't help smiling. "We're just friends! But I do like hanging out with him."

After lunch, they had gym class. Bella was nervous but excited. She loved doing sports, but she was especially eager to watch Donald play football.

When they got to the gym, Bella spotted Donald warming up with his teammates. He looked so focused and determined, and she couldn't help but admire him. As she watched, she felt a rush of pride.

"Go, Donald!" she shouted, waving her arms. He looked over and smiled at her, and Bella's heart skipped a beat.

During practice, Donald played with confidence, showing off his skills. Bella cheered for him every time he made a good play. She couldn't remember the last time she felt this excited about someone.

After gym class, they walked out together, still buzzing from the game. "You were great out there!" Bella said, giving him a quick high-five.

"Thanks! I just wanna impress you," Donald said with a playful grin.

They both laughed, and Bella felt her cheeks warm. As they walked toward their next class, she realized how much she enjoyed spending time with him.

"Do you wanna hang out after school?" Donald asked suddenly, looking a bit shy.

"Sure! What do you wanna do?" Bella replied, her heart racing.

"I was thinking we could watch a movie or something. Maybe grab some snacks?" he suggested.

"That sounds fun!" Bella said, trying to hide her excitement. "I'll bring popcorn! I make the best popcorn!"

"Deal! I'll bring the drinks," Donald replied, looking pleased.

As they walked to class, Bella couldn't stop smiling. She felt like they were becoming closer, and it made her really happy.

The rest of the week flew by. Bella and Donald texted each other every day, sharing funny memes and chatting about school. He always made her laugh, and she loved how easy it was to talk to him.

One day, while Bella was at home, her brother Oliver walked by. "Who are you texting so much?" he asked, peeking over her shoulder.

"Just Donald," Bella replied, trying to keep it cool.

"Donald? The footballer?" Oliver teased, raising an eyebrow. "You like him, don't you?"

"Shhh! It's just a crush!" Bella said, rolling her eyes but smiling.

The next day, Bella was buzzing with excitement. She wore her favorite shirt and styled her hair just right. She wanted to look good for Donald.

When they met after school, Bella felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. "Hey! Ready for our movie night?" she asked, trying to sound casual.

"Totally! I can't wait!" Donald said, grinning.

They headed to Bella's house, and she felt butterflies as they settled in with popcorn and drinks. Bella picked a fun adventure movie, and they both laughed and shouted at the screen, pretending to cheer for the heroes.

Halfway through the movie, Bella noticed how comfortable they were together. They were joking, teasing, and sharing snacks. It felt so natural.

"This is way more fun than I thought it would be!" Donald said, munching on popcorn.

"Right? I knew we'd have a blast!" Bella replied, feeling giddy.

As the movie ended, Bella turned to Donald. "Thanks for coming over! I had so much fun!"

"Me too! We should do this more often," he said, looking at her with a smile.

And just like that, Bella felt their friendship growing stronger. She knew something special was happening between them, and she couldn't wait to see where it would go.
