Chapter three
Serena
And finally morning came. I was grateful to have had two hours of sleep. I stretched sleepily and rolled off bed heading straight into the bathroom.
"Ah, you scared me." I half hissed the words glaring at Miguel who didn't seem bothered a bit. "Why the heck didn't you knock?"
"You were busy singing off key so I thought it'd be wise not to disturb. Get dressed, you're leaving today." He said and stood up heading for the door when I spoke up.
"Who is it that paid for my life?" He turned around and looked me in the eye. "Why do you suddenly want to know about that?"
"Well, it's only right for me to know who is it that made you save me and instead of throwing me straight into the dungeon, you fed me, gave me clothes and a nice room even though it was only half a day or should I say night."
He stared elsewhere briefly then return his eyes back on me. "The Alpha paid me to do it, but let me make one thing clear Sena...he only paid me to save your life, now..." He was before me in a couple of minutes. "You belong to me and I can do with you however I wish to."
I snickered. "Very well then, was that why you stood staring at me through your mask at the execution site? Has he already paid for my life then?" I asked almost beneath my breath.
He didn't give me a response. That only confirmed he was the one. " Excuse me then, I need to dress up so do well to give me some privacy." I made sure he was out before I fell to the ground. What the hell is going on?
Back in the alleyway the guards said the Alpha ordered my execution, now Miguel says the same Alpha asked to save my life. Could it be that he gave those orders and made it looked like he was trying to save me despite already disowning and banishing me from his pack so it would be like he cared? Or is it that he already knows my life is in danger and planned to keep me safe.
I groaned and grunted as the thoughts kept growing in my head already rising an annoying migraine.

The ride to the airport was quiet, not that I would appreciate any conversation between us though.
Too bad Miguel talked to me right before we arrived at the airport. "How does it feel like having no parents?"
"I'm not obligated to give you an answer to your question." I simply said and looked out through the window.
I almost snorted at the thought of how I felt without parents. I never knew how my mother looked like and yeah living without my mother was quite painful but living without the both of them sure would have it's impact on me but I don't really think I cared. Or maybe I did and I just did not want to admit it yet.
My now ex-father hadn't really taken me to be his first daughter. While my bratty step sisters are both in college, all I could brag about is a high school certificate which I wouldn't even be bragging of today if I had relent and let his empty promises sway me.
A tap on my back forced me to quit my thoughts and look up. "What?" I asked Miguel whose eyes were pinned on me.
Can this brat for once try not to be rude?
"I wasn't being rude." I hissed.
"And who said you were being rude?" He fired at me. "You did, say so in your mind."
"Gosh, you darn vampire. Step down already, your new master is ready to take you."
Master? At the mention of the word, Celyn sprang up in fear. What master is he talking about?
Hoping it isn't a sex slave master, I climbed down his SUV and stood looking at the clear white jet waiting in the hangar.
I smiled. Not bad for my new master. Miguel came up beside me. "Stand here while I go talk to him, I want to make sure everything is okay before sending you off to meet him."
I didn't answer and he left not after cursing at me in his mind knowing I would hear that. He should be really grateful I didn't suck him dry of his blood.
Half an hour later and I was on the plane heading to heaven knows where. I thought the so called master would come to personally take me from Miguel, despite my pleas to Miguel to at least tell me where I'm headed, he refused saying the best he could do was deliver me to him without a scratch on my body.
As the plane soared into the sky, I felt a mix of emotions, anxiety, fear, and a hint of... whatever the fourth emotion is. Where exactly am I headed? Who was this mysterious master that Miguel seemed so eager to please?
'Oh for wolves sake Sena, I'm trying to sleep. Can you just stop thinking and allow me a moment sleep?'
I rolled my eyes. 'Sleep all you want, if I'm being taken to where I would be killed, you're dead too.'
'Whatever. Just stop with the annoying thinking.'
I tried to distract myself by looking out the window, watching as the ground below grew smaller and smaller. But my mind kept wandering back to the question, what does my future hold?
The flight attendant came over to offer me a drink, but I declined requesting for water instead. As I sipped it, I looked everywhere just Incase someone other than the flight attendant and pilot is in the plane with me, to my disappointment I was the only one.
Slowly and without meaning to, I fell asleep only to wake up when it was dark. I looked out the window, and my eyes widened as I saw the breathtaking view of a sprawling city bustling with full energy. Where was I and how long have I been on the plane?
Wrapping my hands around myself, I stood up and climbed down the plane. As if they've been waiting for me all along, car doors which I hadn't noticed opened and intimidating men clad in all black step down and made two straight lines putting me in the middle. I will take them to be my chauffeurs instead of guards, at least that would calm me and Celyn.
I slowly climbed down the last stairs and walked up to the black sleek car. The car was opened for me right before my hand moved from beside me when I safely tucked it in my dress pocket.
I took a deep breath, and stepped into the unknown. Half an hour later and I was standing before the most beautiful and breathtaking mansion.
It looked so, oh my God...how do I describe it? I stood there, my mouth wide agape, as I took in the sheer grandeur of the mansion before me. The architecture was a mix of modern and classical, with sweeping curves and towering spires that seemed to stretch up to the stars. The walls were a warm, honey-colored stone, and the windows sparkled like diamonds in the fading light.
Wait, did I say 'like diamonds?' I take that back, the are actual diamonds. Damn, The whole five borders richness combined is nothing close to this one building.
I heard someone said from behind. Welcome to master's penthouse. If the owner had enough wealth to build such expensive mansion meant only for relaxation how will his main house look like?
One of the men among my chauffeurs cleared his throat to get my attention which he did get. "I think you should go in further, if there's anything the master hates, it's tardiness." For someone with such an intimidating look, he sure has a nice voice.
I simply nodded and allowed them guide me to wherever their master is waiting, strangely...for me to be in such a strange place, I don't feel scared. Instead, I feel... eager to see who is behind all the luxury I've been enjoying.
The chauffeur's cum guard expression was neutral as he gestured for me to precede him and I stepped forward without any questions but damn, I seriously want to ask why he would ask me to go forward when I know nothing about here.
Celyn kept jumping and grinning inside my head as I walked. We continued walking like that going through many corners and hallway until we entered a different section of the mansion.
The moment we entered there, I was enveloped in a world of opulence and luxury. The interior was just as breathtaking as the other parts we passed. With lavish furnishings and artwork that seemed to belong in a museum, I couldn't resist to touch them.
I was led to a grand foyer, where a stunning chandelier hung from the ceiling. The chauffeur cum guard stopped in front of a door, which he opened with a small key. Without as much as saying a word to ke, he turned around and went away.
Celyn purred softly and curled herself. So beautiful.
That's the first word she said since we left New York, wait where the hell am I right now?
I stepped through the doorway, my eyes adjusting to the dim light within. 'He hates tardiness huh' I mumbled and Celyn snorted. The room was a lavish bedroom, with a massive four-poster bed and a sitting area that seemed to be begging me to relax.
I went straight for it and slumped on the sofa. Gosh, so soft and comfortable.
Soon, I heard the sound of footsteps outside the door. My heart skipped a beat as the door opened, and a figure stepped inside.
I turned to face him, my eyes locking onto his. And what I saw took my breath away. For a minute or two, I couldn't breathe. His scent is so strong and surprisedly calming.
He walked up fully inside the room and sat on the bed like he already memorized where exactly the bed would be, oh it's not a surprising thing though, he owns the whole building.
For a moment, a thick fog of silence engulfed the whole room until Mr unknown cleared his throat forcing me to look at his face which unfortunately wasn't revealed because he's wearing a darn mask.
"What's your name?" He asked and all I could do was fight hard not to melt away from the effect his voice was having on me. Even Celyn wasn't calm, she kept growling and groaning in my head.
"Serena." I answered and bit down on my lip.
Could it be that his looks is so intimidating and scary that even Miguel can't stand him? Is that why he's wearing a mask?
I tried to read his mind but couldn't try as hard as I could. I raised my head up towards where he's sitting but he was no longer there. I turned round and almost jumped out from sheer fright seeing him sitting so close to me.
What the actual hell? When did he get to my side? I moved away from him as I find it so hard to breathe knowing he's only a skin close to me.
"Serena huh." He closed the space I had created between us. "You're beautiful." He added and lifted his hand up to my face cupping my cheeks. "Very beautiful."
I swallowed nothing and looked away. Nothing in the entire world would have been enough to prepare me for the next words that came out of his mouth. "Be my wife."
I coughed and pushed him away standing up from the sofa immediately.
The surprised look on his face was evident despite the mask he had on. "Why? Am I not good a candidate for you?" He asked not in anyway angry from my push.
He stood up and again before I could register what he's about to do, his right hand were wrapped around my waist, his left hand around my neck.
"I'm neither asking nor requesting you to do it Serena, I'm ordering you to be my wife."
