Chapter four
Zeeland
I stepped out of my private room only to be intercepted by my best friend. Michael has been my friend since I was a little child, we grew up together, did stuffs together, went to same high school and college, went through thousand years together and a real thorn in my flesh.
"I've been searching all over for you, where the hell have you been?" He asked panting like someone who just ran a race.
"Why? You miss me so much?" He rolled his eyes. "Stop behaving so disgusting. You're supposed to see the new girl, she's already here-"
"Oh that?" I cut him through and pointed to the door. "She's in there."
"In where? You're kidding right?" He flashed me a look.
I walked ahead of him."Do I look like one who's kidding?"
"Wait a minute Zee," he rushed up beside me."Are you sure you're not high on something? She hasn't even passed the test yet and you allowed her in there. You're not keeping to your words, you said you would only take your mate inside there."
"Michael." I hissed and he kept shut. "Breath will you. It's not like I'm a daft vampire. Don't you think I would recognize my mate if I see one?"
He raised a brow at me and I nodded.
"Wow..." He breathed and smiled. "Finally."
And almost like a controlled robot he started firing questions my way. "Have you marked her? Does she know who you are? Does she like you?" He chuckled. "Of course, I mean who would see such a handsome man and wouldn't fall in love?"
"I love how you ask and answer your questions. When you're done talking, meet me downstairs for dinner, I'm a bit hungry." Without waiting for his response I strolled down the hallway.

I stood staring at the door covering me from seeing her beautiful face. I don't know why I keep hesitating to open the door, it's been more than thirty minutes since I've standing here.
Ah darn it. I cursed and barged inside only to startle her. She lost her balance and slipped but I caught her by her waist and hugged her. I closed my eyes breathing in her relaxing scent. Even as she kept trying to push me off, I hugged her tight. I made sure my mask was well in place when she finally managed to break free.
"What was that for?" She growled and took two steps away from me.
I simply smiled at her and walked over to sit on her bed. "That isn't how to thank someone who saved your butt from kissing the floor."
I watched her roll her eyes. "Did I ask you to save me?"
"It would be a shame if I allowed my wife hurt herself when I can easily avert it."
"Excuse you. I think you're mistaken, I'm not your wife so you had better stop calling me that."
I rose up to my full height and walked up to her, bending down to her face level I said. "You're in no place to choose if you would be my wife or not Serena. You're already mine and mine alone." I smiled at her then pushed aside a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. She shivered slightly and I smirked in satisfaction. At least I have a little effect on her.
"Sorry to burst your bubbles Mr mask but I have the right to do so and I'm telling you that I wish not to be your wife, now if you will excuse me." She turned around and start to walk away towards the door.
Too bad I'm not yet ready to let her go, will I ever let her go? I've lived for over three thousand years waiting for the day I would meet my mate and then when I finally meet her, she wants to leave. Hell no will I let that happen, not when I'm still alive.
She jerked away when I stood between her and the door knob. "What are you doing?" She asked eyeing me.
"I should be the one asking you that, where do you think you're going to?"
"It's none of your business, just get out of my way."
"Too bad I can't."
"Why? Because you bought me from Miguel?" She laughed a bit. "Now that we are on the topic, do you always buy girls from him to serve you?"
"What I do with my money shouldn't concern you Serena."
"It should concern me because I'm presently a victim here Mr mask."
"I like how rude and outspoken you are." I wrapped my hands around her waist and dragged her forward. "But I don't like my woman is being rude to me." Then slowly and gently I took off my mask for her to look at my face. If not that my hands were tight around her waist she would have collapsed to the ground.
"What? You like what you see?" A huge grin was wide on my face as I looked at her face. "What do you say? Will you be my bride?"
She swallowed and wriggled away from my grip only because I let her go. "You can't just abduct me and request...no, order me to be your wife. You don't even know me except for my name, you don't know where I come from..."
"Serena Dovan, first daughter to Dovan, the Alpha of regal pack. You have a step mother and two bratty sisters named Vera and Jessica. Vera is the older and Jessica is the younger. You got disowned yesterday and was forced out of the pack and also yesterday was your birthday." I looked at her face before I continued.
"The guards who were ordered to accompany you outside the borders almost raped you before they carry out their order of killing you but you escaped them and then got saved by Miguel, the hybrid hunter."
She held up a hand making me stop my narration. "Wouldn't you like to hear all what happened there?"
She shook her head quickly. "I agree that you knew what happened to me yesterday but then I still insist that you know nothing about me."
"Are you then refusing to be my wife based on the facts that we don't know each other?"
She took in her lower lips then shook her head. "It's not only that. I don't love you and don't think I would ever will." She said.
I smiled and exhaled sharply. "Then be my contract wife." I said suddenly before my brain could register if it was the right thing to say. For fuck sake, this is my mate we are talking about here. But then wouldn't it be fun to see her trying so hard not to fall for me?
"The rule is simple. Don't ever fall in love with me. The day you do is the day you breath your last."
Her face paled a little when the last words left my lips but almost immediately she pasted on a smile.
"That sounds more like it. How about I add my own rules?"
I shrugged. "It'd only be fair to let you do that."
"After two years, I'm free to leave here." I raised a brow but she still has more to say so I kept shut and allowed her continue. "Also, no touching."
"No touching?" I asked and she nodded.
"Hm, but you have to be a bit specific my love. I spun her around and pinned her to the wall using both my hands to block her on either side caging her in between. "What kind of no touching do you mean? Is it this type?"
I took in her right breast in my hand. Gosh it felt so soft and full in my hand, I resisted the urge to bend and replaced my hand with my mouth instead I moved my hands down in-between her legs. "Or do you mean no touching around here?" I rubbed on her center.
"Yes." She said almost inaudibly. "I'm free to do this then?" I inched forward to kiss her but she quickly turned her head giving me her right cheek instead.
I chuckled and stepped away from her. "I'm only free to peck and touch your breast. I'm a bit hurt but I'll manage."
She continued glaring at me after I gave her another peck on the cheek before walking out of the room to allow her process what she just got herself into.
