I let out a sharp, humorless laugh. "Worried? You were worried about me?" I shook my head, disgust curling in my stomach. "Tell me, Father, why exactly were you looking for me? Have you found another deal to trade me away? Another offer on the table? How many this time?"


His face contorted in shock, his brows furrowing. "Selene, what are you talking about?"


"Don't pretend." My voice cracked, my emotions betraying me. "Don't stand there and act like you don't know what I mean!"
